Thaala Bentota is located on the best beach strip along Sri Lanka’s western coastline. The property is 99 km from Bandaranaike International Airport and 66 km away from the city of Colombo. Designed by world-renowned architect Geoffrey Bawa, who took inspiration from an 18th-century Dutch village. The property has a contemporary feel and offers a tropical island beachside haven. Thaala Bentota houses two outdoor pools and ample parking facilities. “Disappointing but lovely location”
Really nice location on the beach. Pools are lovely and lots of places to relax. Staff were nice. Food was okay but ridiculously expensive it’s cheaper to eat out

“A good value, clean, roomy hotel right on the beach with lovely pools.”
The room was very large, especially the bathroom. Plenty of space to spread out. The pools were lovely and the food was fine. It was great value. We were visiting for a wedding nearby and it was a great stay. We even had our haor done in the hotle hairdresser before the wedding and they did a great job!

The staff most friendly and helpful , the facilities , the location one of the best along the beach. Choice of restaurants great and 2 pool in different locations also great. The guys who look after the pool beds , sun loungers and provide the towel are worth their gold and of course a source of local contacts as far as trips and tours are concerted

The friendliness of the staff and how welcoming and helpful they are. The location of the hotel is great. The room is extremely comfortable and spacious! Love it all! This is our third time here and we will be back again!

The location, the staff all very friendly and efficient, the two pools and garden area never felt crowded . Breakfast also wide choice available. Loft bar to watch the sunset and have a drink fabulous.

Location was good,; walking distance to the railway station; reception staff was very friendly' gave us a traditional welcome. Staff at the bar were friendly, especially the person in charge ,(with 20 yrs of experience)was very friendly and attentive. ; the room service (restaurant) could have had sum Sri Lankan dishes.
