The staff was very friendly. The view was extraordinary. It’s the best place to stay if you want to relax with your partner.

This hotel is the gem. The rooms were fabulous. The private beach s the spotlight. I had a memorable stay here. I would highly recommend it for anyone who wants to relax !!!

Location overlooking sea. Straight out onto garden or pool then onto beach. Large room balcony Good breakfast . Free water . Room serviced . Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful -couldn’t have asked for more.

Excellent location right on the beach with the sound of waves to fall asleep to and wake up with. Friendly helpful staff who were always there but not invasive or pushy. Good inexpensive food and juices, great breakfast, chef happy to adapt to your requests.

Very friendly staff - nothing was too much trouble. Had sun beds and towels out waiting for us both days. Nice breakfast - fruit, juice, coffee, the biggest pile of fresh toast with butter and nice jam, Sri Lankan omelette. Basic room but perfect for what was needed - air con worked perfectly and nice view from room - straight out onto pool and beach view. Clean pool area straight onto the beach. Not an issue but we had to keep asking to pay and were told later or tomorrow when the manager was in, we were finally able to pay when checking out but would have liked to have paid on arrival so we could budget our money a bit better for the stay. Overall would stay again for relaxed, quiet stay.

“Wonderful place to stay for peace and quiet”

Loved the beach access and the peace and quiet. It was away from the busy part of the town. Breakfast was plentiful. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic location on the beachfront and good in house food. Good spacious comfortable rooms. Good Restaurants within a 5 min walk too on the beach.

In terms of value for money, this was so perfect. It exceeded my expectations given that I had to pay almost 1/3rd of the prices around the hotels nearby. You won't find a TV in your room here, but who needs a room when there is a nice view of a beach you can stare at all throughout the day. Staff was so responsive and friendly. Food also was good.

“A wonderful place at low cost”

We had a great stay at the Southern Star. Responsive lovely staff who did everything to ensure we had the best experience. The room was clean and fresh with a fantastic view over the beach. New fridge, new AC and a comfortable bed. The pool was cleaned immediately in the morning. The breakfast was good. The chef prepared the most amazing food. I ate devilled chicken two nights. The best "Devilled" I've eaten.

Location was perfect, right on the beach. You could hear the sea at night! The hotel and the rooms were very comfortable, quiet and cozy. Good breakfast, kind and attentive staff. We had a super nice and relaxing time here. We also loved the two dogs (one of them was 20 years old!!), please continue to take care of them:)
