“Truely paradise at an incredible price”

From the moment we arrived to the day we left, Janu's staff went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. We were greeted with cool towels and a drink and our bags magically disappeared to our room. The room was perfectly comfortable with a lovely view of the sea. The first night was my birthday and my partner mentioned this to the staff just before we were seated at dinner. Before we had finished our starter, a birthday cake was brought to our table with all the staff singing 'happy birthday'. They had gone to a local baker and bought a cake! Every day the cleaning staff arranged our towels in a different design. Not a huge thing but sweet all the same. The restaurant served wonderful food, we didn't bother eating anywhere else. The pool was warm and clean and we had breakfast on the beach every day. What's not to like. If I could give Janu's Paradise Rest 10 stars I would

Lovely, reasonable and comfortable stay.Location of the hotel is the best,right next to the beach.Enjoyed the long walks & swim. Very delicious food,both local & continental.Staff is very warm & ever so helpful.Mr.Janu the owner overlooks operations personally. 2 lovely & very friendly golden retrievers to welcome you,real paradise for dog lovers.Not very far from the town centre, easily accessible.Will make my visit again.

We stayed here 8 years ago and we’re so glad to go back. New rooms have been added and the restaurant on the beach is lush. The staff are so friendly and the resident dogs are adorable.

Beach location, staff were AMAZING, food was delicious, great breakfast, they organised a cake and fireworks for my birthday. This is a ‘basic’ guest house but that’s what I liked. Total disconnect. Would stay again for longer.

We were traveling in Sri Lanka for the first time and spent a long time deciding where to stay: somewhere near the beach and with good food. We ultimately chose Janus Restaurant. The experience exceeded our expectations! We booked an airport transfer, but as it turned out later, we miscommunicated our arrival time with the owner, and we arrived early, which was very worrying. What a surprise, and how nice it was to find that they were already waiting for us! Our arrival was quick and very comfortable. The staff was very helpful and smiling (although they're becoming more and more like a big, friendly family). Everyone was quick to help and respond to any request or question. The hotel owner is the best person in Sri Lanka! We're so glad we met him. 1. The breakfasts are fantastic! Freshly squeezed juice, coffee/tea, omelettes, toast with butter and jam, fresh fruit 🍉 On the weekends, there were also pancakes 🥞 This breakfast lasted until dinner, which we had at the same restaurant, by the ocean. I especially want to mention the breaded shrimp and rice & carry with fish! 🍤Breakfast and dinner right on the beach with an ocean view! While breakfast was being served, we managed to take a quick dip in the ocean 🌊 2. Cleaning was done every two days. Which was really cool, since they brought a lot of sand into the room with them 😄 3. Cool and interesting tropical shower outside 🌴 4. Beautiful view from the room) just like in a picture. 5. Very clean beach, and practically uncrowded (unlike other beaches, like Hikkaduwa). The hotel beach has clean sun loungers with a roof. The staff always provides clean towels. 6. Near the guesthouse, there are several shops where you can buy both groceries and household items. 7. There is a clean, good swimming pool on site and a library. An incredible place to enjoy sunsets. We are glad that our acquaintance with Sri Lanka began here! Thanks to this place and Janus!

The location right on the beach, fine linen and towels and nicely decorated with flowers when we arrived, tasty welcome drink. Beach towels as well. Good breakfast. Friendly and attentive staff.

Property was on the beach! The staff were all kind and catering. The food was really tasty.

It is tiny compared to other hotel on same beach. But it was ok. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was free 😃 i got eggs and when i asked i also got pancakes and sausages. They have a small restaurant directly at the beach. They also have a small pool which can be used when sea is rough or with little children. You can book tours at the desk if you like to explore
