“Incredible place to stay. Will definitely be returning!!”

What a lovely place to stay. Set in beautiful tropical gardens, it was such a treat to wake up each morning to the sounds of birds and monkeys in the trees. The villa feels very private and is a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. A special thank you to Mr Shirley, who arranged a fantastic river safari for us. We were lucky enough to spot a baby crocodile, which was a real highlight. When we returned, a romantic dinner had been arranged for us, which was a lovely surprise. We also enjoyed a relaxing head massage - just what we needed. What we loved most was that the villa gives you a real feel for Sri Lankan life, away from the large tourist hotels. The food was excellent, but it was the staff who made our stay so memorable. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, and nothing was ever too much trouble. And finally, a special mention to the villa dogs, the resident Dalmatians, who quickly became our friend. We'll miss them both!

“The best villa I have ever stayed in”

I stayed for just one night and immediately wished I had planned to stay longer. One night simply isn't enough to fully appreciate the setting and beauty of this wonderful villa. The food was a real surprise and exceeded my expectations. However, what truly makes this place special is the staff. The care, attention, and genuine hospitality they provide ensure that you feel completely looked after throughout your stay. Nothing is ever too much trouble. I wandered out of the villa for a walk and was rewarded with a true slice of Sri Lankan life, far removed from the tourist trails and large resort hotels. It was wonderful to experience the local culture and surroundings in such an authentic way. This is a place where you can truly switch off, unwind, and enjoy exceptional service in a beautiful setting. I would not hesitate to return and would highly recommend staying for more than one night to fully experience everything it has to offer.

Wonderful Authentic Sri Lankan charm and beautiful tropical gardens. I had a great massage whilst listening to the birds in the background and was so lucky I saw two visiting monkeys. Complimentary tuk tuk to beach was great. Shirley the manager arranged a wonderful meal for us on both evenings and used spices from the garden. He explained all of the ingredients. They organised a meditation lesson for us at the Villa and we had a personal blessing from a Buddhist Monk. Our room overlooked the pool and beautiful gardens. We loved the setting of the villa and would recommend to anyone that appreciates true sri lankan hospitality at its best. recommend using their airport transfer - a knowledgeable driver and a very safe and modern vehicle - something we found hard to find in Sri Lanka. THANK YOU - we will be back.

Unfortunately the host messaged us to say that they were doing maintenance on their pool on the dates we booked. They did offer alternatives dates but we were only in Bentota for those days or we could cancel which we did So I’m not able to give a fair rating.

“Nice accommodation but unacceptable treatment of animals”

The accommodation itself is nice. The room and bed were clean, the area is beautiful, and the pool is very nice. Late check-out was possible, which we appreciated. Breakfast was okay, but the dishes were not clean. The staff do not speak English, there was no proper check-in, no introduction, and no information given. However, in the end everything worked out somehow. Even though the accommodation is actually good and probably better than many others we stayed in Sri Lanka, we unfortunately cannot recommend it. During our stay, we saw one of the staff members hit one of the dogs belonging to the property. The two dogs ran after another dog and were barking. When the staff approached, the younger dog was already very scared and crouching. One staff member then pulled the dog aside and hit him several times on the head. When I saw this, I shouted “hey,” and the staff member left with the dog. Later, we saw the dogs tied on a very short chain. Because of this experience, we cannot recommend this place.

Lovely villa set in a pretty garden with swimming pool. The bedrooms were simply but tastefully furnished.

“A quiet relaxing Villa with a lovely pool and great staff”

The pool is lovely and the garden too. I had a really nice breakfast lots of fruit and ate a the Villa twice. Same price as town for prawns and fish. Anu arranged my trips to release the turtles and a river boat trip. Both were great and worth doing. The hotel has a Tuk Tuk and takes you to the beach and will collect you too.

Tranquil location, the sound of the birds, the garden views from the balcony, all wonderful. Breakfast was the nicest we’ve had since arriving in Sri Lanka and the staff so friendly. Tuk tuk always available for quick transport to the beach.

It is an amazing place. The staff were all so friendly and would accommodate any need. We had the family room on the ground floor which was probably not the best room as it faced the front of the property but it was still excellent.

This small hotel turned out to be an absolute gem. It’s cozy, beautifully maintained, and has a stunning garden along with a fantastic pool. We also loved the two Dalmatian dogs, they truly added charm and joy to our stay. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. They arranged everything from transportation to local tips and made sure we had everything we needed. We can highly recommend staying here.

I never write reviews. In fact this is my first but we enjoyed our stay so much I wanted to share our experience. We can’t speak highly enough of this property and especially the team there that made our stay in Sri Lanka so awesome. They worked hard all day and did so with a happy smile. Nothing was too much trouble. Special mention to Anu who was always on hand to transport us, provide advice, arrange trips, be a tour guide and generally make our trip special. He picked us up and dropped us back to the airport, which was a 3hr round trip for him. He was also available all hours of the day, 24-7. The room, property and grounds were spotless. The food was consistently good and the kitchen was happy to flex for food preferences. We absolutely loved the two Dalmatians, Spot and Bila, who welcomed us home every day and put a smile on our faces. We miss them already! All of this for a very reasonable nightly rate - great value for money. We highly recommend the hotel and would come back in a flash.

“The perfect host, and stunning villa”

We stayed with our 2 children and just loved this place, you will not be disappointed. Abu and his team were fantastic and could not do enough to help. The pool and gardens are wonderful, our kids loved spot and Bella (pup) Dalmatian’s. breakfast was delicious and plentiful, homemade juices, and super Sri Lankan dishes. We stayed 2 nights and wished we had booked longer, the air conditioning is needed and worked well. We will definitely return for some of the best Arak cocktails!

“Good but not as luxurious as expected.”

The building was nice - colonial style. The room was big, with wardrobe so you could unpack. The balcony, veranda and pool were really good. Staff were friendly - pot of tea and cake were given when came back from long day sight seeing. The breakfast was good - fruit bowl, yoghurt, honey, juice, omelet, toast. Manager was very quick to arrange tuk tuk pick ups via whatsapp. Fresh towels were provided every day.

It was peaceful and set in a beautiful garden. The accommodation was beautiful and comfortable and all the staff were friendly, courteous and did their best to make us feel welcome and at home during our stay. It felt more like a welcoming home than a hotel. The breakfast was delicious and we had an evening meal most nights in their Good Karma Garden Restaurant. The evening meals were a variety of different local curries cooked with fresh ingredients. We would highly recommend a stay here and hope to return again. The swimming pool was also wonderful and there is free transport to the beautiful sandy beach.
