Perfect location... few steps to the pristine beach and easy access to town. Quiet and peaceful yet handy to everything. Delicious and well priced food in the restaurant. Breakfast included which is so fresh and hearty. Rooms super clean with nice leafy outlook. A hidden gem !

“Espirit Bentota lovely place”

I stayed at Espirit Bentota for 2 days and had a really pleasant experience. The owner, Lex, is a genuinely kind and helpful person who responded quickly to all my queries and cleared all my doubts, making the stay smooth and stress free. The rooms are spacious and the washroom is equally big and clean, with the AC working perfectly which was a big relief. The balcony was a great spot to relax as well. The food at the downstairs restaurant was lovely, and a special mention to Chandu and Sadee who went out of their way to help and made the experience even better. Overall, a great place with warm hospitality and I would definitely recommend it.

The staff was very welcoming and a surprise was live music until 9. The food at the restaurant was really good, and we had an enjoyable evening there. The rooms were really large, very appealing, great beds and really large balconies. A really great value for the money. The beach was close, clean and had a nice playtime in the water!

I loved this property - the breakfast was sooooo good - so much food - it was for lunch also - amazing fruit everyday. It is a short walk to the most beautiful beach - yes, I would definitely return to this hotel :) thank you for having me

“Good location and big room with nice balcony”

Proximity to the ocean, Bentota beach is really nice and clean, much more space and more relaxed atmosphere compared for example to Mirissa or Hikkaduwa. Big room with very nice balcony, AC and fridge working very well, lots of fruits in the breakfast. Many people are worried about the trains coming by but actually this is not the problem at all, I'm a very light sleeper, but I didn't wake up because of noise of the trains.

“We went through one of our worst experience in my life”

The owner, Suresh, single‑handedly ruined our trip. We booked two connected rooms for two nights and confirmed this with him in advance. Instead, without our consent, he tried to push us into a so‑called “complimentary upgrade” to a villa that was 1.5 km away from the beach. We had booked this property primarily for easy beach access and nearby restaurants, but this so‑called upgrade destroyed that purpose entirely. The villa itself was in absolutely disgusting condition - dead cockroaches everywhere, broken bulbs, AC not working, filthy bathrooms with no hot water, and tanks being filled while we stood there and they were changing the dirty sheets in front of us. It was clearly an abandoned property they tried to sweep at the last minute. When we refused this joke of an upgrade and asked for the rooms we had booked primarily, he arrogantly told us they weren’t available and pressured us to stay in that unlivable dump. Because of his dishonesty and negligence, we were stranded on Christmas Eve, wasting hours running from hotel to hotel, forced to spend a huge amount of money at peak holiday and last minute rates just to salvage our trip. Choosing this properly in the first place remains a permanent scar in our vacation - the worst experience by far. This was not just bad service; it was outright cheating. His behavior was manipulative, irresponsible, and disgraceful. And imagine this: going to a new country with your family, including elder parents, only to be left stranded and forced to run from hotel to hotel begging for availability. That’s exactly what this man put us through. Avoid this property at all costs if you don’t want your holiday destroyed.

The hotel is conveniently located just a few minutes’ walk from the main high street, where there is a supermarket and several restaurants. The beach is also very close, which is a definite plus. Breakfast is served in the restaurant attached to the hotel and consists of a generous portion of fruit, eggs cooked to your preference, along with tea, coffee, and toast. We also had an evening meal there one night; the main course was well portioned and enjoyable.
