Our host Lalith, his friends and family were really welcoming and helpful. We arrived the day before my birthday which happened to be Lalith’s birthday, so we were invited to join the celebrations and even had a bit of cake. Nothing was too much trouble, booking a lovely birthday meal for me at the amazing Amal Villa restaurant and helping us with our airport transfer. The room was clean, with air conditioning, ceiling fan, fridge freezer and hob. It was far enough away from the main road to not be disturbed, but still an easy walk to the beach. I would recommend this property.

City Beach Apartment is fantastic. Perfect location, lovely room and a gorgeous swimming pool in the garden. I would stay here again if in Bentota. Lalith and his wife were lovely and helpful. Thanks very much.

This is literally the best place you can stay in Bentota, room is clean and very comfortable for living. The owner is a very kind person, he is willing to make your vacation as good as possible. He helped me to organize some tours for a cheap price, helped with transfer (he even helped me with a back transfer from Colombo to the airport). There is comfy king-size bed, swimming pool, good breakfast - everything you need for a vacation. This option is good for both short and long-term living in my opinion. Im very grateful for all the help I received there.

“Absolutely lovely stay”

I was lovely stay there. We were family, three of us. There is only 2 separate components in the property so, if you have a bigger family, you can book both rooms too. In that case, you have full property as your own that's really nice option. Our rooms were clean and kitchen area is well equipped and nice. The rooms can join together from inside, then you can also access from the pool side if you are accomodate it as one room. Pool is also clean and nice, small but it's enough to have cooling down from walk. The host was so lovely and helpful, made sure we are happy and comfortable. The location is close to cafes and convenience store. We were very happy and love to come back.

The care and friendliness of the host and his lovely wife Kumari are amazing (she also cooks the best chicken curry I have tasted! in this trip). I felt welcome and at home and they where present at check in. In case of any issues the host is quick to respond via whatsapp. The small pool is a lovely extra that I enjoyed. I extended my stay (that says it all ;-)). The room I had is basic but all I needed, to my surprise it was equipped with a safe, which is lovely for going to the beach and locking away documents safely. A washing machine can be used in a common space. The bed/mattress was good with clean sheets. The room has airco and a fan, an old fridge, connection to internet. I was happy with the mosquito net. Staying in a small building (three rooms, all on the ground floor) feels very nice for me. It is located on a small street. Walking to the beach is about ten minutes. There is an ATM near the bridge (5 min walk), and ATM in the bank at the trainstation (this one only allows you very small amounts of cash withdrawal). The slow train to Colombo costs around 300 rupees. Plenty of restaurants can be found in walking distance. A supermarket is within a few minutes walking. The area sometimes experiences power cuts. Good to bring a torch, just in case. PS: The description of the the place now mentions a hot tub, barbecue, a flatscreen TV in every room, bikes for free and toiletry. My room did not have a TV, a small soap was in the bathroom, I did not see bicycles, hot tub or barbecue. I am surprised to read it. Under facilities massage, massagechair and yoga classes, life music and so on are mentioned. I did not see that within the location, but sure can be arranged in the village, there are many ayurvedic centers. I am glad there was no life music.

A wonderful and cozy place located near the beach in a quiet area. I was glad to be here again. I had previously stayed in the apartment for quite a while (about three months) and loved everything, and now they've added a pool. It's really cool. It's great to see your favorite place getting better. The owner is sociable and kind, always helping us and being kind. I'll definitely come back here again.

The apartment is very well located- close to the train station, beach and stores. It was clean, comfortable and the host was very friendly and attentive.

“Great stay!”

Nice and spacious room with a big, comfortable bed and clean bathroom. There is a front garden where you can sit. It is a 8-10min walk from the beach and there are some restaurants and a small supermarket closeby. Lalith, the owner, and his wife were super friendly and hospitable. They helped us when my boyfriend was sick and made sure we had everything we needed. Would recommend!

Lovely clean studio apartment. Comfortable bed and excellent communication from the host. Washing machine in the hall and plenty of hot water for showers. Great restaurants nearby too

We loved our stay here, the property is so great. A short walk from the beach and restaurants. Breakfast was great, Lalith was so accommodating and helpful, organising our taxi to the airport for us. We would definitely recommend staying here!

Nice spacious apartment where the hostess prepares breakfast in your apartment. Well equipped kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Lovely to have suitcase space and not be tripping over them. Easy walk to beach and amenities

Great communication at all times in the lead up to and during our booking. Huge apartment set up with everything needed for a long stay including washing machine, iron and well equipped kitchen. Perfect location for getting to the beach, lagoon, shops, bars and restaurants. Were so kind in letting us arrive early and leave our bags. Also, said we could leave our bags on the day we left. Lovely garden area which I took advantage of for a workout. Owner can organise a fabulous boat tour on the lagoon. They asked us what we would like for breakfast and I mentioned a very special dish, which they then immediately said that they would make. Was delicious!

“Good place”

The AA worked perfectly, breakfast was good, confortable bed, mosquito net was appreciated because there were many many mosquitos in the room. The location is not close to the beach or restaurante, but it is very calm area with no noise.

Nice and clean place, within walking distance to most sights. Spot for parking. Very accommodating host, arranged breakfast for us with requested breakfast food. Access to washing machine and full kitchen. AC in bedroom, fan in living room. All in all, perfect for us needing a short stay for a small group!
