“Fantastic beachfront boutique hotel with exceptional staff”

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Bombay Bicycle Club Bentota. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Their hospitality was exceptional, friendly, attentive, and always happy to help. They even offered tuk-tuk lifts when needed, which was such a thoughtful touch and made getting around incredibly easy. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, with a charming boutique feel that sets it apart from larger resorts. Every area is tastefully decorated, creating a warm, stylish, and relaxing atmosphere. The attention to detail throughout the property is impressive. The rooms and common areas were spotless, and the level of cleanliness was outstanding. Incredible mattress, best one I’ve ever slept on. The food was also excellent, with delicious breakfasts, meals and great service every time. What really makes this place special is the combination of beautiful surroundings, fantastic facilities, and genuinely caring staff who make every guest feel valued. If you’re looking for a boutique hotel experience in Bentota with amazing service, lovely food, and a welcoming atmosphere, I couldn’t recommend Bombay Bicycle Club highly enough. I would happily stay here again and hope to return in the future.

Facts: - Comfortable beds - Quiet - Secluded beach - Amazing food - Top Service - Safe for female solo travellers! - Great place with (small) kids. - Sea can get rough, choose the right season Stayed 5 nights with child (2y old) and enjoyed every single moment, from sunrise to sunset, in this amazing villa. The rooms are incredibly quiet; you can’t hear neighbors or any road noise at all, which makes it perfect for a truly relaxing stay. The beds deserve a special mention — very comfortable and huge. The entire property is spotless, and it’s honestly impressive how they manage to keep even the open bathroom completely free of bugs, spiders, or ants. Nature here feels magical. At night, turtles come right up in front of the garden to lay their eggs, and during the day we saw peacocks strolling along the beach. The beach itself feels completely secluded—on some days we didn’t see another person. The food is fantastic and plentiful, with every meal being a highlight. What really sets this place apart, though, is the staff. They have this incredible ability to transfer their calm, relaxed vibe to the guests—you instantly feel at ease. They’re always there exactly when you need them (like when a fresh towel seems to appear the moment you step out of the pool). We casually asked for a coconut, and within moments they had climbed the tree to get us a fresh one—an unforgettable touch that sums up their hospitality. Yet, they somehow give you so much space that it still feels like your own private villa. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team (special shout out to the coconut climber) for making this holiday so special. We were already planning our return before we even left! Very beautiful location in the front of beautiful beach. Comfortable and perfect hotel with amazing staffs and good breakfast for me. Thank you so much especially for Dushan who took me everywhere to show around the area:) it was wonderful experience indeed. I would definitely like to come back on holidays!

“The most perfect beachfront stay you can have”

A small directly ocean front property that has it all. A beach bar and clean pool, lounge area and the secluded quiet beach is mere metres away. The staff are very professional. friendly and helpful with everything and keen to ensure you enjoy the food. The chef could come to speak to us. Everything is made to order. The breakfast is far more generous than the menu suggests, authentic Sri Lankan or European. It would be hard to be close to the ocean while seated eating breakfast. The rooms are spotless and well appointed, have very effective aircon, comfortable beds, a small clean and attractive bathroom and lovely shady patio to view the ocean. A. clean sparkling pool. It's only small so you will feel like you are in a private villa. The team were lovely and we were so sad to leave today.

Beachfront Boutique hotel on the most beautiful stretch of beach imaginable . Rooms are just as the photos , lovely with great cold A/c. The view of the beach is stunning and the beachfront bar / restaurant is lovely. Food was excellent and get serve a fabulous breakfast . All the staff were wonderful , helpful, excellent hosts . It is a very peaceful relaxing place .We can’t wait to return as this was truly a special place.

“Laid back, Friendly staff, great location”

We highly recommend this hotel. It is small and secluded and is right on the beach! Our downstairs room was very generous opening directly to the garden and sound of the waves. The staff were extremely helpful.

The location is excellent right at the beach. The rooms are decently sized and well adorned with artefacts that give it a distinct feel. The food is good too.

Room was lovely, very comfy and clean. Staff were super helpful and friendly and were available for anything we needed. Pool very nice. We had dinner twice at the hotel, the food was great!!

Very nice small hotel with comfortable rooms and seaview located directly on the beach and on the road to Bentota. We enjoyed our stay very much, mainly because of the lovely crew, that runs the hotel and took care of us. They took us to Bentota various times, organised a very good massage and a visit to the sea turtle conservation centre which was an amazing experience. They also cooked lovely food and nothing we asked for was ever too much for them. The staff at BBC deserves 10 Stars 🌟. Thank you for making our stay special...

“A wonderful relaxing time in paradise”

Excellent food, superb service, deserted beach, free tuktuk rides into Bentota, glorious swimming, refreshing pool and peace and quiet. Chosen as a place to recover from 24 hours of travelling and it was perfect.

“A peaceful paradise with breathtaking views”

Bombay Bicycle Club Bentota was the perfect place to recover after our long journey to Sri Lanka. It was the very first stop of our 3-week trip (10 different places in total!) and to this day it remains one of my most beautiful memories. From the moment we arrived, we felt calm and warmly welcomed. The peaceful atmosphere, the stunning terrace view that literally takes your breath away and the absolutely delicious breakfast made this place truly special. The staff also truly went above and beyond — always kind, attentive and doing their very best to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Waking up to that view and enjoying such a wonderful morning meal was pure magic — exactly what we needed after a long flight. Even now, I still think about those breakfasts and that incredible scenery. A hidden gem in Bentota — highly recommended for anyone looking for relaxation, beauty and a warm, authentic experience.

“Wonderful beach hideaway”

The hotel arranged for a taxi to pick us up and as arrange, he was there, on-time with a sign! Good start! After 1.5 hours from Colombo and an easy trip on the highway, we were met at the BBC with a cool drink and friendly smile. Quickly led to our room which featured a lovely, comfy king size bed with quality bedding (thin duvets, perfect!) and nice pillows! Plenty of towels, great shower, hot water, loads of cupboard space including hanging, air con that worked well! Patio doors led to our terrace directly to a small garden and the sea! The beach was always empty with soft sand and crashing waves! Not ideal for swimming but wonderful to listen to and watch.  The terrace had plenty of seating.  Loads of sunbeds, all with comfy mats, plus pool towels. The pool was fab too.  The staff were all excellent and kept the place tidy and clean. They couldn't do enough for you.  Breakfast was delicious with a huge array of fruits, smoothies and eggs or typical srilankan choice.  We ate several times in the restaurant which was also very good. There was also great bar service always accompanied by a smile!  The complimentary tuk tuk took you anywhere locally. They organised an excellent trip down the madu river and a visit to several temples. Plus took us and picked us up from local restaurants. Overall, couldn't fault it and a great start to our holiday!
