From the moment we arrived, this bed and breakfast exceeded every expectation. The welcome alone set the tone—warm, genuine, and thoughtfully attentive without ever feeling overbearing. It immediately felt less like checking in somewhere and more like being welcomed into a well-loved home. The rooms were immaculate and beautifully presented, with a clear eye for detail. Everything—from the quality of the bedding to the carefully chosen décor—felt considered and refined. It struck the perfect balance between comfort and elegance, making it incredibly easy to relax and unwind. What truly made the experience superb, however, was the level of hospitality. Nothing was too much trouble, and every interaction felt personal and thoughtful. The hosts clearly take enormous pride in what they do, and it shows in every aspect of the experience. In short, this is exactly what a bed and breakfast should be—warm, comfortable, high-quality, and genuinely welcoming. I wouldn’t hesitate to return and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a stay that goes above and beyond.

We stayed overnight at the beautiful little establishment Planches and Plonk in Belvès, and from the moment we arrived we were treated amazingly. The owners, Graham and Damon, along with their gorgeous (and very well-behaved!) dog Malbec, were so welcoming, attentive, and informative. We booked a table for dinner that evening, and it was such a treat. The charcuterie was delicious and paired perfectly with the wines they recommended — they really took the time to understand our tastes and suggest something just right. They were patient with our many, many questions and made the whole experience feel so personal. The place itself is stunning  immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, and full of warmth and charm. It’s not at all pretentious, just effortlessly inviting. Our bedroom was cozy, spotless, and had everything we could need  fluffy towels, toiletries, tea and coffee and the bed was incredibly comfortable (and I’m quite fussy about that!). We slept wonderfully and woke to a lovely view of the ancient street through the shuttered windows. I can’t wait to go back next time, we’ll definitely stay longer. Highly recommend this gem of a place.

Fantastic location, the hosts could not have been any friendlier, they chatted every evening and provided a lovely breakfast. The evening food was exceptionally high standard as was the knowledge of the hosts in wines and cheeses. The room was very well equipped, bed extremely comfortable as well.

Loved the whole atmosphere of this fabulous place. Food, wine, accommodation, and hosts were exceptional.

“Perfect”

Graham and Damon are excellent hosts. Their property is in a characterful part of a beautiful village and has been renovated sympathetically to retain all of its charm. They are extremely knowledgeable about the wines, cheeses etc that they serve and are obviously passionate about what they do.

What a wonderful place: From the village, to the hosts, to the cheeseboards, to the bedroom with a view - everything was absolutely superb. Loved that it was pet friendly too.

Everything about the property was stunning. The decor and furnishings were beautifully in keeping with the style of the property. All tastefully done and kept in pristine condition. Centrally located to all that Belvès has to offer.

Everything. Location very accessible, able to come and go as we pleased. Nice and relaxed , Graham, Damon and Malbec were fantastic hosts. Made us very welcome and made to feel very comfortable. The breakfast was fabulous. Lovely quality. We had the platters for the 3 evenings we stayed , delicious and they were very knowledgeable about the products they served. Attention to detail was brilliant. Our stay exceeded our expectations , we would def stay again if we visited that area again. It was a beautiful town.

We loved our stay here. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming, anything we needed they helped with. The room was large with a comfy bed, good facilities and was nicely decorated. The town is great with lots of places to eat and drink. The wine and cheese bar itself is amazing with excellent local meats, cheeses and wines... would highly recommend the South-West board and finishing off with a glass of the sweet wine.
