The room is the most basic one you can get there. It has 2 fans and the mosquito nets even though big and sufficient has tons of holes on each side.

Prices for scuba diving, food and drinks are more expensive here than at other places! The female owner is rude, impolite, stubborn, a bully and had no problem to physically attack an elderly lady (me) who could be her mother. She aggressively pushed me down the stairs at her office which left me with bruises and a broken camera. Checking the responses to all the negative references they got - (of course) it's always the customers fault! My experience goes as follows: Pointing out a discrepancy on their website where they stated that lunch is included and since we didn't get it I wanted the 10 USD reimbursed. A long discussion ensued and finally she agreed to take the amount off. The invoice came to 251 USD and I offered 250 which she first okayed. There were other discrepancies regarding the dive which she wouldn't acknowledge. Anyway, when I put my purse away she asked for the ONE USD. Puzzled, I told her that she just agreed to paying the round sum of 250, which she answered with: "If you don't give me the 1 USD I charge you the full price of 261 USD." This logic made me just to get up and telling her that I will leave now. She ran to my backpack and locked it in her office. When I tried to enter the office she pushed me down the stairs and I tumbled to the ground, bruising my knee and elbow which started bleeding. Hurt, I couldn't get up and a lady from the kitchen wanted to help me but the owner hindered her. Then she brought out my rucksack and threw it next to me. I managed to get up and was met with verbal abuse from her when I left for my ferry.

Very convenient location near the ferry port, diving/snorkelling/other activities on offer, free tea/coffee all day, breakfast included, option to purchase lunch and dinner (food options are otherwise limited on the island), friendly staff who are always around to assist, beachfront location, hammocks/beach chairs to relax.

The best things about the Atauro Dive Resort are Fabienne and Marti! They helped us with everything and managed the whole place just fantastic. Unfortunately the Divingboat broke 2 days ago so we could not dive with Marti. So instead they arranged the diving with compass diving and again everything was just fine. We stayed in the dorm. The dorm was clean and the beds were comfortable. The food is just delicious and I highly recommend the homemade coconut icecream. The housreef starts just at the beachfront of the hotel and is worth diving/snorkeling. Massive thanks again to Fabienne and Marti for an exeptional stay!
