This place is heaven. Such a beautiful location. The staff were all incredible. They were all so accommodating and made us feel so welcome. Food was the best we had in our two week stay in Sri Lanka. A must stay if you are going to Belihuloya.

I have some favourite properties around the world that stay in the memory after you leave, they all have something in common with Glenrock though. Accommodation set within a beautiful natural environment that offers peace and tranquility without the big hotel feel. There are also great dining options and nothing is too much trouble to ensure you have a memorable stay. After twelve days exploring the culture and nature of north and central Sri Lanka this was a perfect place to wind down before heading to the hustle and bustle of the south coast for my final week. The property was recommended by fellow travellers shortly after I arrived in Sri Lanka and I honestly can’t thank them enough. As with the other properties I mentioned (Glen Oaks, Big Sur CA / Pumphouse Point, Tasmania / Milia Mountain Retreat, Crete) I will do everything in my power to return.

Remote location allows for a feeling of having escaped from normal holiday trail. Surrounded by trees with a fabulous outlook in all directions. Staff couldn’t be more helpful. Loved the personal approach rather than corporate systems.

Secluded in the middle of nowhere

“A remote and beautiful place to stay”

This is a unique place to stay, high up in the mountains and away from mass tourism. It is designed in a very rustic style which blends seamlessly with the surroundings. All members of staff were absolutely charming and couldn't have done more to make our stay extra special. Both rooms we stayed in were lovely but be prepared for a more rustic environment. Our guided tour to the nearby waterfall was a real highlight, with such personal and caring attention as we scrambled over rocks to the beautiful pool. We strongly recommend Glenrock.

“Restful, the BEST staff, great atmosphere and delicious food!”

This place is a little slice of heaven… its position looking at the hills or river in paddy fields really is breathtaking. What set it apart is the staff who go above and beyond to make your stay here perfect. Nearly all are very local, well educated and genuinely want to share their love of the place with you! My friend normally can’t sleep but found this place so restful! The food is AMAZING, good value and very plentiful - just writing this is making me hungry to return!

Glenrock Nature Wellness Resort is truly exceptional. The location, the hospitality level & the dedication to make everyone’s stay unforgettable is off the charts! During our stay, we enjoyed the stunning hike to Nonperial Waterfall Tour and the Baker’s Bend as well followed by the Pahantudawa Waterfall Tour. Our dedicated guide Thushara was fantastic. Special Rahman you to Asanka our concierge and Gihan who attended to us at the restaurant and made pretty mean coctails! Thank you once again The Glenrock. We shall return!

The nature and kindness of staff

This small hotel is located in a very nice and remote hilly location next to rice fields and a small stream. What needs to be mentioned as outstanding is the extremely attentive and warm hearted service with 100% good quality. The breakfast was extraordinary and all wishes were taken care of. The team took great care with suggestions of local activities and also guided us for those activities without any extra fees. They also took care of games and small activities with our kids, explaining the local environment with its plants and animals. The kids loved the DIY activities with bamboo and the games. The rooms are very close to nature and you have to be aware that you can hear the stream and cannot switch it off at night... ;-)

The staff were absolutely amazing. We wanted to change our reservation after we arrived, and they made it happen. They are super attentive and friendly. They also offered to pick us up from downhill after our walk to the waterfall.

Couldn’t have wished for a better stay! This hotel is set in a truly serene location — every morning we woke to the gentle rush of a nearby stream, the cheerful songs of birds, and an otherwise blissful silence. Room was huge with AC, large bathroom incl. bathtub and a balcony with a breathtaking view. The culinary experience was just as memorable: from hearty Sri Lankan and Western breakfasts to an impressive variety of fish and meat dishes for lunch and dinner. Freshly squeezed juices and beautifully presented fruit platters added the perfect refreshing touch to every meal. The staff were an absolute dream — incredibly helpful, attentive, and offering impeccable service from start to finish including helping us to organise a kayaking trip. They made us feel genuinely cared for. We would recommend this place without hesitation — a perfect 10/10 experience!

The place is a m a z i n g so peaceful and gives back energy. Great staff especially dumi they were so so king and generous to us and gave the most welcome feeling.

Good friendly and accommodating staff, who gave us free room upgrades and complimentary spa treatments and one bottle of wine. Beautiful off grid location for the perfect unique getaway.

This is a really special place. Beautifully designed rooms embedded in nature; we were upgraded to the river side lodge which was a treat and a very unique experience as it feels like you're in the middle of the jungle. Spa treatments are excellent, and so is the food (especially the Sri Lankan curry; all made with unique local produce). As other people have said here, the most amazing thing about Glenrock is the people. It is hard to put into words just how attentive they are. Nothing is too much! Dumi took us on a wonderful day trip which gave us a real feel for the area, and from this we learnt a lot about rural Sri Lankan life. When one of us didn't feel well, the care they provided was outstanding. All in all a wonderful experience and we'd love to come back here one day.

“Memerable stay”

We loved the hospitality, the ambiance, the spa. The food was good but can be improved, tough meat and the river fish had too many bones. The staff kindly replaced it with chicken which was good but the hotel could improve on their cuisine. We loved staying on the river, but it does make a lot of noise.
