I had a great stay at Hotel Tivoli Beira. The staff were very kind and professional, both at reception and in the restaurant. I especially appreciated the takeaway breakfast they prepared when I had to leave early in the morning. The welcoming atmosphere made my work trip much more comfortable. I’ll definitely return on my next visit to Beira.

Clean. Had everything I needed. Very nice people. Quiet. After other reviews I was afraid that the (basic) room would be very tiny... for sure it was not huge, but space was entirely enough to be comfortable, open the suitcase on the floor and still walk around etc (definitely larger than small rooms in Tokyo or London). I asked for a late check out and they had no problem.

The hotel is very well located, in the centre of Beira and with easy access to many facilities even on foot. Modern design and very clean. The staff is extremely friendly. Internet works perfectly and so does the plumbing (both are never guaranteed in Africa). The rooms are very clean and well equipped with all amenities. The hotel restaurant has delicious meals, the service is impeccable and the price is as usual for any other local restaurant.

Staff at the front desk was very slow with the check in formalities. They took about half an hour to give the room key. The room is small and so is the bed. There’s a balcony with a horrible view outside. When I checked in at the hotel it was hot in Beira. One expected the room to have been pre-cooled, but it was not so. The temperature controls on the AC were functioning properly, I just couldn’t bring down the room temperature below 22 degrees, and when I set the temperature to 22 degrees, sometimes it jumped back to 26 degrees on its own. The bathroom was tool small. The shower are even more cramped up for space. The wash basin is like a miniature model. The electrical sockets aren’t international. So I couldn’t charge my phone without buying an adapter. Moreover, there’s no electrical socket provided for charging a phone. One has to unplug the bedside lamp or one of the other gadgets (TV or fridge) and the sockets for these are not conveniently located. Breakfast menu stays constant all throughout the week. So, if one is staying at the hotel for a few days, the breakfast gets monotonous and boring. In general, the restaurant at the hotel provides very little options even for an a la carte meal.
