“Perfection”

My partner is usually the one who books our accommodation, but since it was her birthday, I thought it was finally time to pull my weight and organise a surprise getaway myself. The stakes felt high, so I put all my faith in Candlebark Retreat… and it absolutely delivered. One of the cosiest weekend getaways we’ve had. Only a 7 minute drive from Beechworth, with a perfect balance of seclusion and convenience. Fleur was an incredible host, always just a text away, and the fire pit outside was a highlight. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

Quiet rural aspect lovely outlook and birdsong. Extensive selection of books and videos to read and view from comfortable lounge chairs. The piano is a novel inclusion. Eco-friendly and Australian-made kitchen and bathroom products.

Everything about Candlebark was exceptional, it exceeded our expectations and would recommend it to family and friends.

The retreat was in a very peaceful location with sweeping views of the surrounding countryside. The birdsong from many contributors of varying sizes was wonderful. Our hosts were very helpful and thoughtful.

Beautiful setting. Very comfortable. Friendly & helpful host. Interesting and scenic area, especially if you are interested in bushland plants. Native orchids and wildflowers were in bloom.

Candlebark Retreat was just bliss! Fleur and Digby have thought of absolutely everything and the cottage was a perfect place to use as a base for exploring the wonderful townships around Beechworth. The birdlife in the trees around the cottage were varied and beautiful. Salty dropped by to say hello and check to see if we were settled in ok. To top off the trip the wine made onsite was perfect.. had to purchase a couple of bottles to enjoy later.

We had a perfect stay at the Candlebark Retreat! The location is gorgeous, and it had everything we needed to relax and take it easy.

“A quiet retreat from work & City and a base to explore Beechworth and surrounding areas”

This cottage retreat is located a short scenic drive about 5km north of Beechworth just past the spectacular Woolshed Falls, on private property/vineyard with separate driveway to the cottage. The owner, Fleur advised key location and pre-heated the cottage for our arrival. The building is very roomy, equipped with everything you could possibly need and more (see photos) The hot water is hot, AC works very well, Internet is fast, bed and lounges are comfortable. Outside there is a modern BBQ, seating areas, fire pit and magnificent views. We used it to explore surrounding areas but also loved being in the cottage. We stayed 5 nights and did not want to leave!

Beautiful and quiet bush location just outside Beechworth. Loved the cottage and views across Beechworth bush. Perfect getaway with lovely hosts.

It was in such a beautiful location. Had everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. So peaceful and relaxing.

A fabulous property in a secluded location. The serenity, beautiful surrounds and bird life were the favourite features. The small home was spotless. A small, equipped, kitchen and an outside bbq enabled meal preparation. Home produced, quality, wine was sampled and purchased. When you've stayed once, you will have the desire to return. Fleur visited to make sure that all was OK. (Affable and caring).
