“Wonderful stay, looking forward to returning soon!”

I had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this B&B to anyone visiting the Somme region. Karen and Bart are wonderful and kind hosts. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcome. The hosts are warm, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the history of the Somme. Their insights and recommendations added so much to my visit and helped me experience the area on a deeper level. The location is ideal for exploring the many historical sites, memorials, museums, and battlefields of the Somme. After a day of exploring, it was always a pleasure to return to such a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfasts and evening meals are excellent, and the shared meals create a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow guests and exchange stories. What makes this place truly special is the combination of hospitality, historical knowledge, and genuine care for their guests. I am already looking forward to returning.

Brilliant location . Friendly and informative hosts. Evening meals home made and very tasty. Karen and Bart spent time with us in the evening which was enjoyable.

The combination of location and having an expert guide on site is fantastic . As soon as you get out into the locality you are immediately immersed into the history that is all around you . Bart really knows his stuff . It’s that combination that makes the difference

“Great hosts and a great location.”

A lovely property in a nice, quiet village. The owners, Bart & Karin, were super friendly, very good company and an absolute mine of interesting information and anecdotes. The room was basic but very comfortable and perfect for my needs. Parking onsite, a lovely garden to relax in with a beer and great food - what more could you ask for!

We had a great stay at 14-18 Somme Chambres. The highlight was the 1/2 day guided tour with Bart who did a lot of research beforehand to help me understand where my great uncle had fought and died. Would definitely recommend.

Central location, friendly owners, safe bike parking, local knowledge. Just 5 minutes from Hawthorn ridge & Beaumont Hamel, 10 minutes from Thiepval.

It was a real home from home. Karen and Bart were so friendly and helpful. It was lovely to sit and chat with them and others in the house. Their knowledge of the WW1 history and the area was amazing and Bart was brilliant at finding information about my family history. A very special stay, thank you.

Karen and Bart were very friendly, helpful, humorous and knowledgeable hosts. Genuine interest in the story of my Great Uncle, missing in action on the first day of the Battle of the Somme 1916. I learnt a lot on my brief visit and remain grateful, a lot more than just a place to stay.

Location worked great for a visit to Somme battlefields, owners made everyone fill welcome and provided everything needed. We paid for the dinner in the evening which was very good and could purchase drinks as needed.. Host gave great information on the battle of the Somme and places to visit in the area.. He also does battlefield tours which we will use next time we visit Its a 10 out of 10 from this group of 3 who all enjoyed the visit

This property offers great value for money, it is run by very friendly owners and located right on the Battlefields. Their three-course meal is an added bonus which I can highly reccomend. When visiting the Somme this is the place to go!
