Situated in the hills above Lake Thunersee, at 1150 metres above sea level, the chalet-style Hotel Sterne in the Alpine village of Beatenberg offers panoramic views of the Jungfrau peaks. Most self-catering apartments have fully equipped kitchenettes. Guests of the family-run, English-speaking hotel benefit from free WiFi in all areas. A bus providing connection to Interlaken stops opposite Hotel Sterne. Interlaken is a 15-minute drive away.

“Very good location for quiet location.”
Location was with owesome view . We needed two transport modes to reach interlaken ost which was a bit inconvinient. Most of the times the gap between two buses from hotel to interlaken west was one hr.

“Very good single bed room especially for that price and very nice host.”
Very cozy room for one person, absolute no brainer for the price, comes with the Beatenberg guest card that offers free transportation to interlaken and around, Vlad is an amazing fella, pretty much gave the itineraries I followed for my stay to discover the region, there are no lifts however so take that into account.

We had a truly wonderful time at Hotel Sterne. The cozy atmosphere and the warm, welcoming reception alone make you want to return. We enjoyed a breathtaking view across the entire valley, the lake, and the mountain range as we sat on the balcony with a coffee in the first spring sunshine. It was well worth spending the night here in the tranquility of the Swiss mountains.

Absolutely gem of a place to stay in a good / reasonable price range. Owners are great people and very helpful indeed. Best communication from a hotel management and both husband and wife has been in touch via Booking.com (as well as making it easy for us, via WhatsApp as well). Location and views are just amazing from the property. Vlad (husband) has helped us with guiding the best possible use of our days and structuring the day visits / tours around the Interlaken area. Accommodation had all you need for a short stay as a family. Room and amenities were clean. This is certainly a hotel for us to revisit, whenever we are ever again in the area. Totally recommended.

A particular hotel. Not really as you know it. Rather a building with several appartments and rooms and a reception. Rather old, but definitely clean. Very kind and helpful owner. We paid a very low rate for Swiss standards.

The view! That was what attracted us to it. The location itself being so isolated was quite nice at night giving us views of stars. But that’s about it.

Our stay at this hotel was absolutely perfect. The room was warm, clean, and very comfortable, making us feel right at home. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. The view was beautiful and made our experience even more special. We truly enjoyed every moment and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a wonderful stay. We would definitely come back again!

“Lovely view and good amenities”
Ana helped us so much, she is a kind soul, helped us with suggestions of places to visit and also personally helped when we were late on check in day. Road was closed and we had to take an alternative route.
