“Perfect location, lovely apartment in the heart of Bayeux”

Perfect location for Bayeux, right by the square and 5 minutes from the Cathedral. The hosts were so lovely and helpful, and we arrived tonfresh coffee, local cider and various treats. The place was the perfect size (2 adults and a child), well equipped with kitchen, lovely shower and all the other conveniences. Beds were comfortable and the hosts had even put a Uk/France adaptor in, which was lucky as we'd forgotten ours and everyone had a phone to charge. Very thoughtful! Couldn't rate it higher, a lovely long weekend! We used it as a base to do both Bayeux and also the Normandy beaches and museums, all in very easy travelling distance. We came in an electric car and the hosts pointed us in the direction of chargers (including free topups!) that we only had to use once as everything was close. They pointed out 2 restaurants, both of which did great food.

When we telephoned Catherine to say we had arrived, she was there in 5 minutes even though she asked for 30 minutes notice - Thankyou! Lots of helpful advice about the area. Great to have a washing machine and drier. Wonderful apple tarts as a welcome and also some drinks in the fridge as well as a stock of coffee and tea

The location was superb for sightseeing in Bayeux. The main high street was less than a 5 minute walk away, the Cathedral and Bayeux Tapestry Museum were a 15 minute walk and the Battle of Normandy and British Cemetery were approximately a 30 minute walk so there was a lot to see that was a within a short distance. The high street and side streets had lots of beautiful buildings to look at and there were plenty of shops, bars and restaurants to choose from. On Saturday there is a lovely market on the fountain square that offers fresh produce and on Sunday there is a bric-a-brac market held there. The bus route was literally a 2 minute walk from La Citidine, which was ideal when we decided to visit Omaha and Gold Beach! Catherine our host was so lovely. She greeted us with a warm smile on arrival and she spent lots of time showing us around our accommodation and providing us with information of where places were that she thought we might want to see, try or use! She had baked us some delicious apple tarts and there was apple juice and bottled water in the fridge. The property was exceptionally clean everywhere and was decorated beautifully. The facilities within it were of a high standard, from the many towels provided, cosy bedding, plenty of hangers, laundry appliances (including liquid to wash our clothes) and toiletries to use. Catherine really has thought of everything to make a guests stay very comfortable and easy and even though her English wasn’t great, she tried very hard to communicate with us…she is a perfect host!

Lovely clean apartment in a great location, free street parking or paid parking in the market place across the street. Light and bright, nicely decorated and quiet. Very comfortable bed & furnishings. Washer & dryer. Catherine met us a the apartment with warm cake & coffee brewing. Great base for our trips to all the Normandy beaches & memorials nearby. Highly recommended.

“C'est magnifique!!!!”

Our hosts were phenomenal! They offered rides to and from the train station and stayed to show us how everything worked, pointed out markets, attractions, etc. They provided local ciders for us to try, left a plate of fresh apple baked goods, and even fixed a pot of coffee we enjoyed after a day of traveling. I cannot stress enough how much we would love to stay there again on future visits!

Lovely apartment where the owner has made it feel like a home away from home. It was great having a washing machine and dryer after travelling for over a week. The location is excellent, plus we managed to get a car park out front every night of our stay. We stayed for 3 nights but there is so much to do in the area we could have longer!
