“Calm and friendly place in Bohol countryside”

I had a very nice stay at Lhoy and Jean Garden. They have been very welcoming right from the beginning. The hostel is located near the rice fields, chocolate hills and a small village. I enjoyed the calm environment and nature around. I can definitely recommend to spend some time in Bohol countryside and visit the hills, Tasiers, waterfalls nearby. Thanks a lot Jean and Lhoy!

Alof of Love

Lhoy and Jean are so lovely, they will make you feel at home as soon as you arrive. Lhoy taught me how to ride a motorbike, which has been very useful as I'm riding everyday during my trip now. Also he gave me informations about activities. Breakfast and dinner are 100% homemade and absolutely delicious. I have one regret, I didnt stay enought time.. Thank you Lhoy and Jean !

Beautifully maintained and quiet, in a great location near the chocolate hills. Lhoy and Jean were so incredibly accommodating and the option to pay a small amount extra for dinner and breakfast and be fed with tasty home cooked food right from the garden was such an unexpected bonus!!

Hosts Lhoy and Jean were amazing people, they really looked after you and made you feel like family. Amazing facilities for the money, easily one of my favourite accommodations in South East Asia!

“FANTASTIC AND BEAUTIFUL”

Simply everything! It is simply a fantastic place run by a very warm and loving family. The accommodation (cabins) was very clean, comfortable and large enough. The same goes for the toilets, showers and the communal kitchen where coffee, beer etc is available. The garden is also beautiful and very well maintained. You can hire a scooter directly from the accommodation and they also offer excursions. The location is great for getting to everything. There is also a great breakfast and homemade dinner for little money if required. Plus fresh fruit from the garden or coconuts. It really is one of the best places we've stayed in at a very reasonable price. We would come back at any time and can only advise everyone to get to know Lhoy and Jean and their wonderful accommodation for themselves.

Our fav homestay in the Philippines so far!! Cute location, basic but well maintained facilities, great home cooked food and super friendly hosts! They also organise trips and shuttles for you. Def recommended :)

Jean and Lhoy are really great hosts. They're very sweet, and knowledgeable about the island. The simple bungalows were comfy. We enjoyed the group meals and hanging out with the backpackers staying in the dorm, even though we're a little older! Everyone was quiet and respectful, it was a good place to share travel advice. Jean's cooking is delicious! Very close to chocolate hills (10 mins tuktuk).

We absolutely loved our stay at Lhoy and Jean’s place, so much so that we decided to extend as did another group who were there when we were. We felt so at home from the beginning and Lhoy and Jean made so much effort to make us feel welcome, despite going through a family bereavement themselves. Their generosity and kindness was endless and they really wanted to make sure you enjoyed your time there. The huts were basic but clean with insect nets both around the bed and integrated into the building of the hut. The showers were normally cold water but refreshing and we never felt the need for hot water. Toilet was well-maintained and clean. The shared kitchen facility had good equipment and you really felt able to use it and the fridge. You didn’t need to though because Jean’s breakfast and dinner were one of the highlights for us - generous, delicious, and cheap at only around 200pesos per dinner, and 170 for breakfast. The ingredients mostly come from Lhoy’s garden and you can taste it. Honestly my favourite place in the Philippines so far, we felt so immersed and we LOVED it. We also met other like-minded tourists which added!

The ambiance, serene, homemade local food, hospitality, and tours were excellent. Kudos to the owners, Sir Lhoy and Madam Jean, who are very kind. My experience was memorable and amazing. I will definitely come back when visiting Bohol again.
