“I spent an extra $348 to get somewhere else - The staff are the only reason it’s not a Zero review!”

So this place feels like it once was a beautiful hotel that has fallen from glory, the staff are super friendly here so do make it a pleasant experience but that’s where I am forced to stop.

The location was good, however if you're interested in the river area, the main tourist area of town, it's a bit of a hike. TukTuks are readily available, however, and if you install PassApp you'll get on ok. There's also a fairly nice "hot pot" style restaurant in the same building which was excellent seeing as we got in late.

“Total nightmare”

The entrance to the property seemed clean and relatively tidy. Once you walked up the stairs to the first floor, there was a treadmill and other personal items that I can only assume belonged to one of the workers who lived there? Our room was small and very dated. We noticed a couple of ants on the sideboard and along one of the seams on the first night, so actually ended up sleeping in one single bed together so that the bags could be off the floor and sideboard. The next morning we got up and both wanted a shower only to find that there was no hot water! We explained at the desk about the ants and asked them to clean the room. When we got back from being out that evening we walked in to find a trail of ants from under the bed, along to the side and crawling up the sideboard. Straight away we went down to the front desk and asked to move rooms. They said there was no space to move us, so we asked for a refund. The man at the desk repeatedly said he couldn’t give us a refund and that he would just clean it for us, to which we pointed out that it had already been cleaned and that there were STILL ants. We asked to speak to a manager and were told first that there wasn’t one there and then that there wasn’t one who spoke English. We still stood and insisted on a refund for that night because we refused to stay in a room that was full of ants, especially as they were clearly under at least one of the beds. After a phone call to someone, a lady came downstairs and again refused us our refund. After we re-explained the situation and the health and safety risks it posed, she then said that because we booked through booking.com that they would give us the refund but we would need to pay a commission fee. Obviously we refused this and again pointed out that it wasn’t our fault that there were ants. After a long wait and lots of backwards and forwards about whose fault it was, we finally packed our things and got out of there, with a refund for that nights stay.

All around pretty good place to stay, good value for the price you pay, liked the balcony

The property was very good. The only issue is that they are currently renovating and the noise is bad. The renovations are supposed to be between 9 and 5 however even on Saturday they started at about 7.30 am
