Just a few steps from Bat Cave, a peaceful and family-friendly place! A huge thank you to my host and their family for their warm welcome and for the moments we shared together over meals. The owner gave great recommendations for activities and helped me organize my transportation.

This is a rustic homestay. The family are lovely and a great level of English. Walkable to the batcave and some restaurants. Dinner cooked onsite was tasty, and the tour we booked through them was a great standard.

I stayed in the tent, which was very comfortable with mattress and bedding, a fan, and power outlets. I was worried it would be too hot sleeping without aircon in mid April, but it was absolutely fine at night. The fan helped too. It was also super fun on a platform over a pond! Loved the hammock. The bathrooms were clean and well equipped. I was given a towel too. The food was delicious - breakfast is included! The location is great, just a short walk from the bat caves and food places. But still feel in the country side. I liked that it was out of the main city. Esaro sorted out tuk tuks for me, a tour for me and a couple of others staying there (which was a great day!), and even came with us up to the temple by the killing caves to tell us the story depicted. Esaro and his family are so so welcoming and kind. I was lucky enough to be there for Khmer New Year and had a great time spending time with them in the evening. Overall a fantastic stay. One of the highlights of my 3 months travelling Asia. Would absolutely recommend.

We loved the homestay! The family is very kind and we had a lot of nice chats with them. The place is a 20 min drive from Battambang but you're near the impressive batcave and can walk there to see the bats fly out in the evening. We were sad to leave this peaceful place.

Esaro and his family are very kind and welcoming. The homestay and its surroundings are beautiful, and it is located right at the foot of Phnom Sampeau hill. Honestly, I had a very pleasant one-week stay here.

This is a great location near the famous bat caves. A great and authentic way to experience local village life. Saro and his family were nothing but hospitable and welcoming, and even took me around the area as well as helped arrange travel to some tourist areas such as the bamboo train. I live in Phnom Penh but will definitely come back when I need a break from the city.

“Peasefull and beautiful.”

Our bungalow was absolutely beautiful and very comfortable. It was a great location if you want to stay near to the bat cave. The owner was amazing and took us up to the caves on bikes. It was great to have an English speaking person explain the history behind the caves.

“Best homestay in Cambodia”

Lovely homestay at the outskirts of Battambang, it is well maintained, clean and quiet. The family host are the most welcoming people ever. They make you feel welcomed since the first moment. They move you around if you need, give tips and advices what to do. You can borrow their bicycle, and they prepare delicious meals. You get a very authentic experience with the locals since everyone on the village knows each other, and they are so happy to meet the guests. Probably the best place I have stayed in Cambodia. I had the AC room, and it is great, great toilet and shower, comfortable bed. My only regret is not having more days to stay here more.

Great homestay, great location (walking distance to the bat cave). Saro is a great host who welcomed us into his home. His wife is a great cook and we felt at home, which was just lovely! I was a little worried about how we’d sleep with no air con (as it was baking!) but the fan worked really well and we had a great nights sleep. I highly recommend this homestay.

What a wonderful place to stay! Located in a rural setting just 10 minutes walk from the bat cave this is a real gem. There is a range of accommodation to suit all types and the family go out of their way to look after you and make your stay special. There is plenty to see in the area on foot, or tour options can be arranged, or you can explore Battambang City via a 20 minute tuk tuk ride. This is a village homestay where you can experience warm and generous Cambodian hospitality, we learnt a lot and I loved the incredible bats! 🦇

Walking distance from bat cave. Very quiet relaxed area if you want more buzz move near bat cave or take tuk tuk 20’ to Battambang center. Nice family everyone smiles :) I was sick one day and they gave me medicine and took care of everything I needed.

Esaro was so welcoming and helpful for me visiting the batcave, giving me a ride on the moto which was so fun! I traveled solo, the room was super private and comfortable, the family so welcoming too. It was really nice to spend a night there out of Battambang centre to be closer to the mountain with more quiet. Thank you so much, would definitely stay again!

Batcaves Family Homestay is perfectly located — only a 10-minute walk from the Bat Caves of Battambang. If you’re coming to see the bats, you honestly won’t find a better spot. The facilities are great and very clean. I stayed in the tent and it was surprisingly comfortable — peaceful, well arranged, and a lovely experience overall. The food was another highlight. You can eat on site, and I highly recommend it - the included breakfast was great. Fresh eggs from the neighbour’s chickens, vegetables from their garden or nearby gardens — everything fresh and full of flavour. But what truly makes this place special is the family. They are incredibly kind, responsive, and welcoming. I was travelling alone and they even invited me to join them for a family dinner and drinks with friends. It felt genuine. By staying here, you support a locally run Cambodian family business — and you feel the difference. Highly recommended.
