“Very memorable stay close to nature”

- Manon and Pierre were wonderful hosts and very helpful - The night walk on the grounds of Ataraxia was one of the most memorable experiences of our entire trip - The breakfast and dinner area: casually spotting frogs, monkeys, sloths during breakfast or dinner was amazing. - the amazing grounds, with mangroves, a palm tree areas with massive crabs and a jungled hill. - a week wasn’t enough 😃

It was wonderful. A beautiful place with excellent accommodation. Clean and comfortable. The water taxi took us directly to the property. I also highly appreciated the opportunity to take a night tour. I highly recommend it.

“A great eco-tourism spot!”

Breakfasts and dinners were excellent, a different menu each day. Our jungle bungalow was set amongst the trees, and we awoke to the beautiful sound of birds.

“Perfection”

ataraxia was in the perfect location, the boat taxis were really easy and always on time. We were surrounded by well loved and looked after natural grounds. The owners were always on hand to help, answer questions or just be really happy to have a conversation. The food was incredible, in particular the breakfast and the risotto, and we loved the wine every night. I have a vegan diet and they were incredibly accommodating and always made sure I had spectacular food. We did a night tour also and saw so many things on the property you maybe wouldn’t notice on your own, and also different things at night including glowing lichen trees, tree frogs, caiman and much more. Pierre also took the time to show us the red frogs in the morning after breakfast. I also came down with a sickness fever, well before I arrived, and they were very sympathetic and helpful and guided me to the best medical services. There’s also day tours to do and kayaking through mangroves which was incredible I would one hundred percent return in the future

“Perfect jungle escape with wonderful hosts and amazing food.”

It is located in a wonderful setting in the middle of the jungle, close to all the main places (Red Frog Beach, Bocas Town, Old Bank). The hosts are wonderful people — they help with everything, and the food was fantastic as well.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The view from the dining terrace is truly one of a kind, and breakfast was delicious. We highly recommend taking advantage of the free kayaks — exploring the water this way was a highlight of our trip. The docks are also perfect for swimming and jumping in, which our family especially enjoyed. We wholeheartedly recommend this place to families looking for a fun and relaxing getaway. Best value for money. Also we loved the walk to Old Bank and then to Wizard beach.

We loved our stay, Pierre and Manon were very friendly and always ready with conversations and tips on where to go and what to do. We had dinner there all three nights and enjoyed all of the food. It is a family run place, not too big, so you can get to know your fellow guests from around the world, we really liked that aspect as well! Thanks to all the staff for a great start to our holiday!

“Great lodge in Paradise”

Everything. Manon and Pierre are amazing hosts with a passion for their lodge. Great food at a very reasonable price. Beds were very comfy and the views from the Seaview units was fantastic. Birds, sloths and caiman all seen during our much too short stay.

We loved the cabin on stilts halfway up the hill in the forest with views from bed and deck through the trees and across the sea. The fan overhead kept the temperature at a perfect level. Up more steps is the dining area and a platform for yoga classes. Owners Manon and Pierre were so friendly and helpful and produced delicious breakfasts and simple, tasty dinners. Their helpers were so warm and friendly and ready to call a water taxi to white beaches close by. It’s water taxis to everywhere - great fun although a little hard on your backside sometimes! Wonderful place and as eco friendly as possible.

We liked the surroundings, breakfast and dinner were both nice and also the view from the restaurant and the friendliness of the staff. We liked the night walk we did to see fauna around the premises

Great breakfast and the dinner with wine and dessert was perfekt. I loves the view while eating - watching birds, monkeys and sloths. The owner, his family, Conny and to the dog are super kind. We did a nice kayak tour for lunch to old bank. Best thing was the nightwalks in the evening where we got to see tarantulas, red eyes frogs and caimans. Also the trip to red froh beach was such s good trip. Every shuttle between the isla colon and isla bastimentos beaches is 6$ per person - really good to calculate trips. You can join the Zapatilla island tour from their place at 10:15 - you dont need to be on isla colon for that! We were so happy they could do our laundry for 6$! The have a perfect service!! Beautiful secluded location on a quiet island, surrounded by nature, including monkeys & sloths. Manon & Pierre were great hosts, and breakfast & dinners were excellent.

I had an amazing stay at Ataraxia. It’s a stunning location, with a jungle backdrop and coral reefs at your doorstep. It was incredible seeing such a variety of beautiful nature, from white-faced monkeys, red frogs, birds of prey to stunning fish in the water. I loved the sounds of nature from the bungalow, such a memorable experience. The owners here are fantastic and are always more than happy to help in any way. The food was delicious and the setting of the restaurant is nice. I initially booked for 3 nights but ended up extended to 5 - I could happily have stayed a lot longer.
