Beautiful setting, lovely and airy room, very spaceous with a big terrace. Absolutely quiet and extremely relaxed location, however far away from everything. Rebtal car is of advantage. Good food!

Olga and all of the staff members were so warm and helpful, we felt really welcome. Food and drinks were nice. Last but not least, the location by the beach is beautiful and a great spot to relax!

The staff and service were exceptional, very warm and welcoming and made you feel like no ask was too big. The room was very clean, outdoor shower refreshing and beds were comfortable, the mosquito nets kept the mosquitoes out.

“Lovely stay in Playa Mangalares!”

The food was the best we had in Colombia - really delicious made to order fresh foods, with orders for meals taken a few hours before. Lovely ‘honesty box’ with beers and soft drinks available when required. Olga was a lovely host, so accommodating and helpful. We did the Rosario Island tour - 1 snorkelling stop, a trip to Oceanario (due to bad weather and at extra charge) and then a few hours at a beach. Reasonably priced as Olga coordinated with other guests at the hotel to join us together. We also took a packed lunch from the hotel on this day trip which was great. Highly recommend the few hours to the Avery as well.

“A lovely peaceful hotel”

We had a beautiful peaceful stay at Playa Manglares. Olga and her lovely team were incredibly welcoming. We spent three nights in the Treehouse as a family and it was a wonderful spot up high. It was nicest to sleep with all doors and windows open so might be worth bringing eye masks and ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. We ate all of our meals at the restaurant and the food was freshly cooked with a good selection for everyone. We visited the aviary (fabulous range of birds) and also took the boat trip to the Rosario Islands which was a real highlight of our whole Colombia trip. Olga arranged it and we had a lovely father son skipper pair pick us up just before 9. We had a bit of a tour around before stopping to snorkel and then going to the beach. We got back just before 3. Olga also arranged our taxi from Cartagena and back to the airport. When we were at the hotel we enjoyed reading, chilling on the beach, rocking in hammocks, playing games and some swimming. The water was muddy on that side of the island but still warm to swim in. It’s worth bringing beach shoes as there are stones, but most of us were able to borrow from some that had been left by other guests. A beautiful place to stay to wrap up our stay in Colombia.

“Tranquil, perfect place to stay”

This was such a special place to stay. Olga and the staff make you feel so welcome. It’s not trying to be a fancy hotel but it’s is an authentic experience - the food is delicious, gorgeous surroundings and fabulous swimming. The sea water is not blue but it is clean and a pleasant temperature and great for swimming. Olga can also help organise outings to the famous aviary and boat/snorkelling trips

“Tranquil hideaway”

Nicest people, delicious cocktails & food, a very relaxed environment. Outdoor shower epic view (we stayed on top floor). Felt very safe and no one was haranguing you, except to ask you what you want to eat or drink :) Definite highlight was going Nena Beach Club at Playa Blanca at about 4pm for sunset, which was gorgeous.

“Perfect stay”

The moment you get to the hotel you feel the love and hard work the owners have put into it. My friend and I felt absolutely relaxed and happy during our stay at Manglares. It is probably one of the quietest places to stay in the otherwise noisy Baru area. The food is absolutely delicious - we didn’t want to eat outside the hotel even the days we went for an excursions. They have options for everyone - loads of veggie and vegan dishes. The bed was extremely comfortable and even though we stayed at a room without AC the fans were very good and kept the heat away. Good rooms, large and comfortable. Great food. Staff were friendly and helpful. Beach is good, fabulous location, good sunsets. The National Aviary is close and worth a visit.

Food and service excellent. Location and setting suited us perfectly as the environment was very calm, relaxing and peaceful. Small number of rooms meant that there were few people staying making it more intimate. The staff and owner were very friendly and professional.
