“Great cosy little cabin beside a wild beach”

Loved staying here with my dog and walking the beaches looking for rocks. The hosts were very warm and welcoming, the cabin was warm and well set up and I loved the free breakfast. I’ll be back for sure next time I’m passing though.

My elderly mum and I had the most wonderful stay in Barrytown in the beautiful surroundings near Punakaiki. Karen and Nigel are such lovely, welcoming hosts who have created a truly beautiful beachside retreat. The cabin we stayed in (Koru) had everything we needed and it's located so close to the sea, the views and scenery are absolutely breathtaking. I had the most amazing sleep in an incredibly comfortable bed, and the shower was fantastic with great pressure! The overall ambiance and peacefulness made it a highlight of our trip. We couldn't have asked for a better experience—highly recommended and I will definitely be back again to stay.. Thanks again guys, you're AMAZING hosts! 🌞 🌴 🌊 🏖️ 🐚 ✨

Secluded location and access to the beach

A true Kiwi bach on the amazing West Coast. Comfortable, everything we need for a day or three away from our everyday lives. Near to some stunning walks and rugged beaches. We'll be back!

This beautiful property presents better than the current photos. It is lovely and peaceful. You are a short walk to a beach and a short drive to excellent walks. Karen is welcoming and has local insight on places to see. We appreciated the little extras left for us. Thank you.

Super helpful and friendly host. Big roomy cabin in a nice quiet setting. Easy 5 minute walk to a big West Coast sandy beach. Parking right by cabin. Great facilities available for clothes washing. Exceeded expectations.

The location of the accommodation was very good for our route. The room was very spacious and well-equipped. It was possible to do laundry. Breakfast was prepared in the kitchen/refrigerator; we made it ourselves in the morning.

Lovely remote location with very kind hosts providing a tasty home cooked meal on request. Comfortable clean, modern, spacious home stay accommodation.

The Bungalow was spacious and well equipped. A 10 minute walk to a secluded beach and convenient for visiting Pancake rocks which is a short drive away and well worth a visit.

The owners Karen and Nigel were very friendly and welcoming (as was Shadow their gorgeous puppy). Lovely location near the beach.

“We used the place as a one night stay, so we did only walked to the beach in the evening.”

We were in the home itself and we had a good click with Nigel and Karen so we had some good conversation’s at a good breakfast.

Spacious cabin with everything you need: Comfortable bed & shower, breakfast included, well-equipped kitchen. We loved the area near the Pancake rocks (18min by car) and the beach (5min by foot). The hot tub was the cherry on the cake. Our host Karen was really friendly and helpful, recommended to stay here!

Lovely and clean. Very modern house with beautiful furnishings. The owners were was very informative with local history of the area and loved showing off his collection of Mouri artwork. They were both lovely people to engage with.
