“Beautiful house, super clean and tiny purrs”

A lovely hotel, a gorgeous garden and a lovely tiny girl cat who purrs her head off and who appreciate a bit of food.

“Very nice stay at historical hotel.”

The Hotel Colonial is located in a 100-year old (so not really colonial) mansion near downtown Barranquilla. It's close to restaurants and not too far away from the malecón - at least by car. I love old buildings, and this one is quite well kept up. The furnishings are more grandma than museum, and while the building didn't look anything like my grandmother's house, it had the same vibe. I found it comforting. There is a dining room and a patio downstairs and most rooms seems to be open to that. We got a room in the first floor, looking towards the street, and it was simple but comfortable. It had a 1940's vibe. The AC worked well, The beds/pillows were standard for Colombia. A minor point, but I liked that they had exfoliating soaps - it was a nice detail. I don't think they had other toiletries, however. Staff were very nice and friendly. There is parking right in front of the hotel. Breakfast is extra, but we didn't try it - food in Barranquilla is exceptionally good so we went out for brunch.

“Lovely place to stay in a Colonial building”

Beautiful colonial house turned into a hotel. I was offered a number of rooms and asked to pick one, which was a first. Excellent breakfast served in a beautiful garden. Laundry service was efficient and cheap.

“Wonderful Prado historical home”

What a beautiful hotel! A true gem. Great location, very secure, lovely architecture, lots of history. The staff was very attentive and kind, breakfast was delicious, the bed was super comfortable and the sheets were super soft. We stayed in many places in Barranquilla but this has become my favorite place. We’ll be sure to return.

“Amazing experience !!”

I loved customer service at hotel's lobby. From the first time they were charming. They helped us with any question that we had regarding places like sightseeing, restaurants, and how to commute along the city. The installation is new, all the amenities have been renewed. Although the outside of the hotel looks a bit old fashioned, the rooms are really well equiped. The location is really good if you wanna go to places like Shakira's statue, or other interesting places. A great experience !!!

Staff were absolutely wonderful, extremely attentive and warm with all of the guests. There was so much attention and care given to us during our stay. Breakfast was extensive and delicious, particularly recommend the fresh patacones and the delicious huevos pericos made to order. A gorgeous courtyard and a very tranquil spot in Barranquilla’s historic Prado neighbourhood. Lastly, we will miss the Hotel’s pet pomeranian friend Torito. We will definitely be coming back here!

“Great location and clean rooms with great breakfast!”

The breakfast is great they offered a buffet on the weekend of carnival. The other days traditional Colombian style. Also eggs anyway you like fresh fruit and juice. The staff was very attentive and the room was very clean.

I really enjoyed the quiet of this neighborhood and the beautiful colonial buildings and wide avenues. There are several small shops, an Olympic Centre and restaurants nearby. I visited the zoo as well, which is near by. Casa Colonial is beautiful and peaceful. My room and bed were comfortable. I was able to use the kitchen for making tea and meals. The Hotel kindly prepared a breakfast to go for me, as I checked out very early. Everyone was very welcoming and nice.

“Lovely stop over in Barranquilla”

Beautiful house in a nice area of Barranquilla, there are wonderful restaurants 7 minute walk (Olio and Jade). We stopped there on our way to Tayrona and we had a very pleasant stay. The bed was super comfortable, there was air con, and the host was very nice. We also parked in their garage which was great for us. Breakfast is freshly prepared in the beautiful courtyard. A sweet dog kept us company, he was so lovely. We loved the patacones they prepared, the best we had in Colombia!

“Charming hotel, good breakfasts and lovely staff.”

This hotel was a delight. As it says it is a colonial house with lots of character and charm set around a central courtyard. We had a room above the courtyard which was very quiet. The double room we stayed in wasn't huge but perfectly adequate and the breakfasts were excellent with fresh fruit, eggs and cheese, juice and coffee. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. The tourist attractions in Barranquilla were more spread throughout the city so we took taxis but they are plentiful and reasonable for the short distances and the hotel are happy to call them for you. We enjoyed visits to the Sharks Fin, The Carnival Museum, La Troja, Window to the World and the Malecon and there are some really good shopping malls. In terms of location, quality and value for money we thought this hotel was excellent.

“Unexpected gem in an incredibly surprising city”

A lovely colonial house. The staff was superb. They were so incredibly polite to us and made our stay very comfortable. The house felt really warm and the garden where we had our breakfast is beautiful. Our room was neat and clean.
