Our host responded to all our questions and allowed us to check in early. The bed was comfortable and the water was hot. It was centrally located and we felt safe. The price was excellent.

“Value for money”

Everything was good. The owner was very nice and friendly. The accommodation is close to shops and restaurants. My room wasn't next to the road, so it was pretty quiet. I slept well. The toilet was good, and the hot shower worked well. Overall, I was happy with my stay. I highly recommend this place.

The owner is super friendly and gives many tips about the surroundings and visiting Caral. The room is good value for money. Location is a short walk away from the plaza de armas and the beach.

It is very centrally located near the main square and within walking distance of the beach. The rooms are basic but have everything you need. But it is the owner and her son who make the place so special - they treat you like family, are so welcoming and go out of their way to help you in any way during your stay. It was our second visit and I would recommend it to anyone who comes to Barranca. The big attractions in Barranca are Caral and Hotel Los Angeles!

“I left feeling like I had gained an abuela”

Without a doubt, the highlight of this stay is the owner who I feel so bad for forgetting the name of. I was only here for one night and by the time I left I felt like I had an abuela. She is one of the most lovely people I have ever met. She asked what I like for breakfast and what my favourite fruits are so she could buy them for me and make me breakfast. When I took a collectivo to Caral (recommend) she went with me to make sure I found the best driver and told him “don’t you dare try to scam him”. She helped me practice my Spanish and spoke very slowly and clearly giving lots of tips and patience. And when I left, there was a complication with the busses, so she came with me to the station and helped me sort it out, waiting with me for an hour to make sure I got off ok. I’m very grateful to her and highly recommend this place if only to meet her and experience her kindness

“Lovely owner & simple room”

The owner is a gem - such a genuine, kind and helpful lady who treated us like family! She gave us advice on how to visit Caral archaeological park, as well as how to get the bus to Trujillo when we left (there are multiple bus terminals and depots in Barranca, so this was invaluable info). She even insisted on serving us breakfast on the morning we left and remembered that we’d mentioned we were vegan. The location was really central for walking to the beach, main plaza, shops or restaurants. Strong WiFi and hot water. It was nice and quiet. It’s worth mentioning that the hostel has no signage and the Google Maps marker is on the wrong side of the road. The entrance to the hostel is through a copy shop which is a little unusual, but we just asked some locals on the street and they pointed us in the right direction.

The owner was very friendly and made us feel at home as we were allowed to use the kitchen facilities. Also there was a parking garage just opposite to the hostel which was convenient for over night parking.

“Well informed host”

Staff are very good here and very informed on the area. Any question I had about getting around, public transport and visiting local and regional attractions they could answer. They were even more informed than the local tourism officials

The Hostess was an absolute angel! Really kind, warm and welcoming and came to bus station with us to help us book a ticket and ensure we got a good deal. She did the same for our trip to Caral. It is the perfect stop off for a visit to Caral!

We had such a wonderful stay here — Mary Lou went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. She personally walked us to the bus station to help us get to Caral, and when I got sick, she made me tea and offered me anything I needed, and gave us total flexibility with check-out. She was so kind, full of hugs, and made us feel right at home. Despite our limited Spanish, she was incredibly patient with us using Google Translate and never made us feel like a burden. Her whole family is lovely and made the stay even more special. Could not recommend this place more — truly one of the kindest hosts we’ve ever met! ❤️

Really lovely comfy and personal stay. Delicious breakfast was provided, the room was comfortable and quiet and a good location for the town. She really went above and beyond helping us get to Caral with buses - a perfect stay!

The owners have a disabled son who made noise all night long. I don't want to spend any money on something like that. If I could, I would ask for my money back. I absolutely cannot recommend the hotel.

The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. She organised my trip to Caral really well. Lovely breakfast with a personal touch. She (and her son) are really 'Angeles'. I would definitely stay here again.
