“Memories of Bardia”
Sunset View Lodge in Bardiya is a special place. Extremely attractive lodges and central dining area. All staff are very friendly, attentive, and eager to share their knowledge of the surrounding countryside and wildlife. Food is excellent, a shared table with our hosts and other guests. We would happily return there. Peter and Mary, England

Really nice, comfortable bungalows with a warm interior and atmosphere. The Lodge has only 3 bungalows and this makes it special and personal. The owners are friendly and helpful. They also offer safaris with experienced guides who are knowing the jungle.

This place simply deserves 11 out of 10 stars. The booking reviews are not exaggerated. Our stay was simply unforgettable. They want to offer their guests Western standards in Nepal. There is a great dining area with a view of the rice fields, an area to relax, and then the great houses to stay in. Safaris, taxis, or other requests are easily organized and you can rely on them. We saw lots of animals and learned even more about them, as well as about the culture and the country. Our only mistake was not staying longer. Four nights here were not too long for us, but much too short. Go on safari, take a relaxing day off with delicious traditional food, or let them show you the village and get in touch with the people.

“Authentic, beautiful, social and cultural”
Following my trek to Annapurna Base Camp, I wanted to experience Bardia National Park and enjoy an authentic taste of Nepali life. Sunsetview Jungle Lodge was the perfect choice. Pramesh was an excellent host and guide. The property is beautifully designed, well maintained, and feels like a little piece of heaven. It is the perfect getaway and base to experience the delights of Bardia National Park. The food was excellent, with delicious local dishes prepared with skill and care by the chefs. Nothing was ever too much trouble for Pramesh and his team. They were friendly, attentive, and a joy to talk to throughout my stay. The lodges themselves have everything needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Mosquito nets, insect repellent, hot water, comfy bed, 2 fans, secure locking door, towels, excellent WiFi and coffee! The experiences in the National Park were second to none. Pramesh’s deep knowledge of the park and his incredible insight into animal behaviour meant we had the most unforgettable encounters, including elephants and even a Bengal tiger. I couldn’t have hoped for more. Thank you so much to Pramesh and the whole team for such a wonderful experience.

“Sunset View: A Cut Above the Rest!”
This place is so good, I have to break it down into categories: Accommodation: A true eco-lodge with a strong emphasis on environmental protection. Only fresh juices are served, no plastic bottles. The rooms were spotlessly clean and equipped with two fans, which I didn’t even need because it was surprisingly cool inside. The bathroom is very modern with round-the-clock hot water. Bar: The bar is a really nice place to chill after a day's safari. I met so many great people and swapped stories about our wildlife sightings. The chef Amrit prepares fresh dishes based on your preference. The Owners: Pramesh and Niomi are like the real-life Tarzan and Jane. Pramesh has his ear to the ground—he visits the jungle every day and has extensive knowledge of the wildlife and ecosystem. His expertise significantly increased my chances of spotting tigers and leopards. He even arranged to pick me up from Nepalgunj Airport. By the end of my first day's safari, I realized I was seeing more wildlife than any other tourist. It reached the point where others were booking Sunset View guides the next day based on how much I had seen! The Guides: This is what really sets Sunset View apart. The in-house guides are phenomenal. Jagat and Anit are true ambassadors of Bardia. They know the national park like the back of their hand and stay in constant contact with park officials and other guides. Unlike some other guides who seemed a bit robotic, Jagat and Anit tailored each of my walking tours to my interests. I can honestly say I saw more wildlife than any other tourist at that time, all thanks to them. I booked two guides for 4 days straight. During that time, I saw: • 3 tigers • 1 leopard • 20+ elephants • 10+ rhinos • 10+ crocodiles We only spotted the leopard because my guides recognised the alert sounds from deer and monkeys warning of a big cat nearby. Jagat and Anit are true masters of their craft!

“A true gem in Bardiya”
We really enjoyed our stay here! It a small unique place to stay, very comfortable, and the food will keep you coming back. Their chef Amrit makes delicious food, everything is so tasty and prepared with passion. The team Of Wild life guides is also super amazing, and will make sure you have the best experience. We enjoyed the peace and quiet in the countryside. And loved the conversations and interactions with everyone at the communal dining area. Thank you for and excellent stay, we hope to be back sometime. For anyone wanting to do safaris and stay here for a few days, make sure you bring sufficient cash to keep you going for a bit.

“Sunsetview: where every detail tells a story.”
We had an exceptional stay at Sunsetview. We made the booking thinking we would be there purely for the jungle and the safari, but in reality we got so much more than that. Every member of the team - all beautiful and extremely kind persons - is working tirelessly to provide the highest quality. Every small detail is thought through: from de delicious meals and snacks during the safaris, to the cleanliness & cosyness of the bungalows and bar/chill area, the flexibility in organisation of the safaris, the sustainability of the lodge (not just hollow words, but real impactful actions), and so on. Pramesh is a passionate storyteller and during the communal dinners, which we loved, we learned so many things about the national park and the surroundings, its conservation and life in the village. For us, coming from Belgium where real nature is very scarse, it’s wonderful to see how life in a village is intertwined with that of the jungle and its wildlife. It’s difficult to describe in words how grateful we feel about everything we experienced here, but one thing is sure and that is that Sunsetview is one of the most special places we have ever stayed in. Initially we planned to be there for six days, we ended up staying nine and we still left with a heavy heart. Big thanks to Pramesh & Noémie, Anit, Amrit, Jogot and Anita (and little Paris of course). You guys really inspired us. Because of everything what you do, the world gets to be a better place. Keep up the fantastic work! We hope to see you all again in the future.

“Nothing short of amazing!”
Pramesh and Noemi are the perfect hosts - they make sure you are happy at all times! They have both travelled themselves, so they know what makes for a comfortable stay, e.g. they have a chill-out space with hammocks, the beds are great, there is space to leave your stuff, the bathrooms don't have the usual nuisances like shower over the toilet and what we really appreciated: if you have no safari planned for the day, there is no fixed breakfast time, come when you like, so no stress. All the staff are super friendly too and it makes for a very relaxed stay. Dinner is great, everybody eats together and there is no menu but rather a different dinner set every night that can be altered to individual preferences/ needs. It is great to sit together in the evening and swap stories of the day. The place seems to attract a certain type of traveller and it fits really well and makes it enjoyable to have a drink and a chat together. Pramesh is also a guide in the Bardia National Park and we went on two trips with him, a walking and a jeep safari, and both were great. We had the impression that we got to see a lot more than other people who stayed at different lodges that we ran into. Ramesh is very experienced and has a lot of patience, so we really got to "meet" all the wonderful inhabitants: 5 tigers, one big male wild elephant, several rhinos, deers, different species of birds (also the big hornbills!), it was amazing! Ramesh's cheerful personality makes it a pleasure to spend time with him. We got a very warm send-off and it felt to us that we had arrived as strangers and left as friends. We hope to be back soon!

“Very Enjoyable Experience”
Pramesh & Noamie are doing a great job with this lovely intimate homestay. They made us feel so welcome along with with the other members of staff - Anit, Amrit & Jagard. The rooms were very comfortable, and like many others have said, the hot shower was wonderful, as was the the sunrise energy fruit bowl for breakfast! Eating dinner with other guests from different countries at one big table was fun. We did two jeep safaris and a walking safari, and were fortunate to see a tiger and a female rhino with her baby. Would definitely recommend Sunset View as a place to stay for Bardiya NP.

“Fantastic place near the jungle!”
We stayed at Sunsetview for 5 nights and absolutely loved it. The rooms are really cozy, well decorated and have a hot shower. WiFi is the fastest we have had during our one month travel in Nepal. The food is freshly made and tastes very good. Saw the cook preparing the food and he also paid a lot of attention toward hygiene. I like the fact that dinner was eaten together with other guests, if you want of course. The safaris were well organised and we managed to see a lot of animals, including the tiger. All the guides knew a lot about flora and fauna. The hosts are warm and funny, and pay attention to every detail. Would definitely stay again. Also, there is a really cute dog 😁

“Amazing place!”
I had a delightful stay at this place. The spacious and clean rooms, relaxed atmosphere, and delicious food made my experience truly enjoyable. Premesh and Noami were exceptionally kind and attentive, ensuring a comfortable and memorable stay. My jeep safari tour with Premesh was a highlight, providing incredible close-up views of rhinos, deer, monkeys, and even a tigress. I fully intend to revisit Sunsetview on my next trip to Nepal

“Bardia’s finest guides and hosts”
I chose this place because of the lovely looking cabins and the excellent reviews. The cabins turned out to be perfect and had everything we needed, as well as a lovely dining area, bar and fire pit nearby. But what really makes this place special are the people running it, Pramesh and Noémie are lovely hosts and will make you feel comfortable and well cared for. Omit will cook some amazing local dishes. And Paris will keep you company at the bar. If you choose to venture into the jungle (which you most certainly should) Pramesh and his assistant guide Anit are the ultimate safari companions, highly dedicated to tracking the elusive animals and keeping you safe in the meantime. Just remember, when you are I. The tall grass, with a hidden tiger or rhino potential around the corner, no risk, no fun!
