Overview
Pensión Portugal is located in the centre of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, less than 200 metres from Las Ramblas. This guest house features a 24-hour reception and some rooms with balconies. The Portugal’s simple rooms have parquet floors and modern, lightly coloured décor. All rooms have a TV, some rooms have a private bathroom and some have a shared bathroom. Free Wi-Fi is also available. Pensión Portugal is within walking distance of many of Barcelona Old Town’s cafés and restaurants. Plaza Reial’s bars and nightclubs are just a 5-minute walk from the guest house. The Pensión is a few minutes' walk from Barcelona Port and 700 metres from the city’s Cathedral. The guest house is set 200 metres from Drassanes Metro Station, just 2 stops from Plaza de Catalunya Metro and Train Station.

I liked it was close to the metro, perfectly positioned to what was needed for the stay. It was very reasonably priced, if you’re happy finding somewhere simple, but not wanting to share a dorm. I didn’t mind having a shared shower room, it was good to have my own sink

“5 days in Barcelona for a festival.”
Location was perfect, perfect for the gothic quarter, a short walk to the metro to get from the airport on one side, and to get to all the sites on the other side. Loads of food and drink options close by and a short walk to the beach. The staff were really friendly and helpful at all times of the day (we were coming and going late into the night and early morning). Different from other reviews we did not find it noisy at all, we didn't see or hear any other residents the entire time we were there. Also there is a lift to the rooms which was very welcome after a long long day out and about.

Reception staff were so lovely and helpful. Great location. This was a one night stay for us after a cruise so we wanted somewhere reasonably priced in good location and that's exactly what we got. It's clean, has aircon and provided travel cot as we were travelling with a baby.
