“Ideal for late arrival or early departure as close to train station”

Difficult to score as no experience of properties in Java. Large basic room with a pleasant veranda to eat an asian breakfast brought in from outside. Laid back host who speaks English

Very helpful staff to arrange a trip up to Mt Ijen. Conveniently close to train station for an early departure. Breakfast served at warung across from train station is delicious. Beds comfortable.

The host/owner was very friendly and good. He helped me to arrange transportation from point to point during my stay. He also can arrange the Open Trip/Private trip to Ijen. The room is big and the bed is comfy. Maybe need to provide toilet paper for non Indonesia visitor, as well as towel rack. TV, Youtube and perhaps Netflix were accessible and I enjoy it. If you are going to Ijen and use train (Banyuwangi Kota) to go to your next journey, this place is spot on. The local people surrounding the hostel are also friendly and you can donsomw chit chat with them. 🤗 Banyuwangi people are friendly.

“One of the worst places we stayed after months travelling”

After several months of traveling, this was one of the worst places we stayed at. The room was in poor condition, with broken and poorly maintained facilities. Cleanliness was quite bad. Although it was close to the train station, the location wasn’t really good as there was nothing around and it was even difficult to find a place for dinner. Even though breakfast was included, many days we couldn’t have it because the host gave 100% priority to the guests who booked the Ijen tour with them. When we arrived, there was no toilet paper or towels, and we had to ask several times to get them. The listing was also misleading: it mentioned things like a TV and a hairdryer that definitely didn’t exist. There was also no drinking water available and no small courtesy touches at all.

Great little homestay, very clean and super comfortable bed ! Very close to the station, so it was easy to travel to and back. Staff is lovely and attentive and will help you organise activities and day trips, as well as can recommend good places to see.

“Stopover”

Away from lots of traffic and noise.

Staff were really friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The room was really clean. We booked an ijen tour through them for cheaper we found anywhere else and it was brilliant. Brought us breakfast in bed the following morning. The staff also helped us to organise our onwards travel to Bali.

Great location, only 3min walking from the train station, and you don't have the feeling being inside the city, it's quite calm. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. Hamet is super nice and welcoming and his wife prepared the breakfast for me in the morning. Thank you again 😉

“Lovely stay close to the station”

I liked the hospitality of the hosts, they helped me with laundry and find a private driver to the plantations and Jagir waterfall to fill some of my spare time. Also arranged a massage after doing Mt Ijen. The bed and warm shower were really nice too. The stay is also very close to the station but at the same time you are in a patch of a very green land and trees.

Very friendly staff, they help you with everything you need. Nice breakfast, great price, the room is huge and new, all clean. 2 min from the train station and near the start of Ijen volcano. They also rent scooters. Thank you, amazing!
