Great place! The room is very clean and spacious, with a large bathroom. There’s an outdoor kitchen where you can prepare your own meals.. Delicious breakfast is included in the price. The host is very helpful and showed us places worth visiting. You can also rent a scooter on-site and explore the beautiful surroundings, experience local village life, and see dragon fruit plantations. We highly recommend this place! ✨

Ali is an exceptional host, dedicated to his community and the culture that makes it whole. Willing to share his environment, he took us into the Mangrove, meet the volunteers there, and we could participate in planting some, in a plan to preserve this rich ecosystem. You can have a night walk into a dragondruit field as well, to understand its cycle, and relish in savouring one. Amel, his wife, made the best breakfasts and dinners we had on Java, in a friendly and well decorated natural environment. You just feel home. Extra bonus : Ali knows a lot of people in the whole Banyuwangi area and beyond, and it helped us in many ways, like booking a surf lesson on Red Island Beach over the phone at night for the next morning. “A family found away from home! Coming back for sure”

Teluk Biru Homestay was a delightful time! We were immediately greeted with so much love arriving after from a long drive. The family were so lovely! Ali, Amel, Aska and Blueberry. We walked around town with Ali and were shown the rice fields, dragon fruit plantation, fisherman areas, shrimp farm, boat port and mangrove area. We got to go to the mangrove plantation and help plant mangroves and also went to the dragon fruit farm and helped pollinate the dragonfruit flowers. Both were very cool experiences, thankyou Ali. Amel made the most delicious pancakes I have eaten in my whole life. They also ordered food in for us one night from a local restaurant which was phenomenal. We also had a fish bbq with the other guest staying at the homestay and it was so fresh and delicious. Ali takes a lot of good photos and videos of all the experiences, which is lovely to be able to look back on your stay here! He also creates video edits which are amazing to share with family and friends about your time in East Java. The room was super clean, comfortable and made for an amazing sleep. The bathrooms were clean and everything functioned well. The family are seriously the most loving and welcoming and you will feel right at home staying at Teluk Biru homestay!

Ali is a active community-man, happy to tell you all about what is to do in the area. The nearby visit to the rescue of turtles and setting a few free for a small donation was heartwarming. And Ali even made a great video of this for us! The free bikes were a great extra. Cycling to the colorful boats and mangroves by myself. The kitchen is outside, sitting in the cosy garden.

Homestay provided with everything also possibility ro have fish dinner home made, if you ask so. Possibility to have your clothes clean inhouse. A big and well furnished bathroom and daily cleaning of the room. A beautiful garden where relax.

“Relaxed stay full of local experiences”

I had a very relaxed, but interesting stay at Teluk Biru. Ali showed me Muncar fisherport, Alas Purwo, the mangroves, the dragon fruit plantation and even his school. Amel cooked me delicious breakfasts and dinners. I could also use their scooter to go to Red Island Beach. And on top of that I got to drink a fresh coconut from the garden everyday :-) Thank you Ali and Amel for everything! I really appreciate the time I got to spend at Teluk Biru!

We spent 3 beautiful days in Amel & Ali guesthouse. The room is clean, spacious and quite and they are amazing hosts. You will have delicious breakfast and dinner prepared with love by Amel, and Mr Ali will take care of you in planning tours and activities in the area. Absolutely a gem, few km away from Alas Purwo National park.

It had a nice, chill vibe with a cute garden, the rooms are big, tasteful and comfortable. It is also very clean and has a stylish bathroom. Ali, the host and his wife are wonderful people, kind and helpful.

Ali and Amel were amazing hosts. They were welcoming and take time to spend time with the guests. We did cook together, visit the around, the fishing port, the mangrove and many other things. They are also so helpful to provide advices for our future trips to Igen. The garden is also very relaxing

“It was a fairytale...”

Staying with Ali was like a fairy tale! Ali and his wife are immensely helpful, attentive and reliable. They both have huge warm hearts! He himself is a nature guide as well as an English teacher, and has good contacts in the village. On the first day, we were able to take a romantic boat ride on a small boat at sunset. We sailed past mangroves, into the sea, and with a view of the mountains. A unique trip guided by a local resident. Eco-tourism at its best! A second day we discovered the Alas Purwo nature reserve. We were able to visit the turtle rescue centre. As many as hundreds of turtles. We could release some baby turtles into the sea. The jeep then took us to a unique beach where we were lucky and saw some adult turtles swimming in the sea. We further visited the fishing harbour, mangroves, and some local oyster farmers. The homestay is quietly located on the street. A five-minute walk takes you among the fields. On request, his wife makes delicious food in the noon or evening. We can highly recommend the fish! You can also eat well in the neighbourhood. The room was very clean, and spacious! We stayed here for 4 nights. Ideal as a tourist on tour in Java. Ali also helped us with transportation for example from the airport to his place. A wonderful stop on our holiday. We would highly recommend it to anyone. We stayed here for one night during our world bicycle trip on our way to Banyuwangi. It’s a lovely homestay in a beautiful garden with outdoor kitchen and clean rooms owned by a kind couple. Excellent place to stay, relax and at the same time explore around the area! The owners are wonderful, make you feel super welcome, very responsive and help with anything you might need. The food was excellent, not just breakfast I had dinner a couple of times and it was really good. Tasty, fresh and not too oily!

“Awesome”

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights and everything was perfect. Ali the host and his family were very welcoming and helpful. They also made us delicious meals and facilitated a tour of the national park on a traditional fishing boat, which I recommend. The location is also close to G-land so you can get in and out for surfs without the cost of surf camps if you are on a budget.

The owner is such a nice person. He will literally show you around everywhere. He took us to the harbor, school, market, mangroves, dragon fruit field, and more. The bathroom is really clean, and the homestay has an outdoor kitchen *-* it's probably the best stay around this area!
