Sharing meals with the host’s family was a heartwarming experience, and we learned so much about Balinese life, traditions, and values in a way that felt personal and genuine. Even though Balinese people are known for their friendliness, what we experienced in this less touristy village exceeded all expectations. The hosts went above and beyond, even helping us rent a scooter to explore the nearby waterfalls—just a short ride away and absolutely stunning. There’s also a truly local warung right next to the accommodation, perfect for tasting authentic dishes in a relaxed setting. If you’re looking for comfort wrapped in culture and kindness, Pondok Kak Sekeh is the place to be.
