“Very disappointing stay!”

Very disappointing stay. I booked this apartment for 10 nights and paid more than $1,000, so I expected at least basic comfort and proper support from the host. At check-in, we had to pick up the keys ourselves and no one met us. When we entered the apartment, there was a terrible sewage smell. The host claimed it was not a problem with his apartment specifically, but with the whole complex. That explanation did not help at all, because the smell inside the apartment was still awful. The apartment looked generally cleaned, but we still found sunflower seed shells left on the sofa by previous guests. There was also a burned saucepan and cracked glassware, which showed a clear lack of attention to detail. The biggest problem, however, was the toilet. It would flush water, but waste would not go down properly. Because of this, whenever we needed to use the toilet for anything serious, we had to go down to the first floor. This was completely unacceptable, especially for a stay of this length and price. For an entire week, the host or agent failed to solve the problem and then eventually stopped responding. Only after a week did they send a plumber. The plumber used a plunger, which improved the situation only partially, but did not fully fix the issue. The host’s attitude toward us was terrible throughout the stay. He clearly did not want to solve the problem, refused to take proper responsibility, and failed to keep his promises. Many things he promised were either not done at all or done very poorly. Some of our messages were ignored completely, and sometimes he disappeared for days before replying. I have screenshots of our correspondence to support this. I would not recommend this apartment to anyone.
