Amazing stay at Bandipur Chhen, loved every minute of it. The room is tastefully decorated, we had also a beautiful balcony with full view over the picturesque main square. Let them know if you’d like a double, so the beds will be pushed together and different bedding added. Breakfast is great there, too. They helped us with transportation, i.e. Taxi and helped us with our luggage. Highly recommended!

BANDIPUR CHHEN… BANDIPURE DELIGHT!! Long before I was due to travel, instinct and research informed me that Bandipur would be a highlight of my multi-stop, east to west, Nepal Odyssey. I put on Pause a YouTuber making his way down Bandipur’s cute heritage Main Street, and strained to make out the name of the adorable little hotel he was passing. It was BANDIPUR CHHEN! Straight to booking.com. There it was with a mighty 9.2 score and “Fantastic Location” tag. I booked immediately and fervently hoped I would be allocated one of the two, cute, private balconied rooms at the Chhen (which only has six rooms!) Fresh from Chitwan, I arrived and was greeted at Bandipur Little Gate by Manager SUMIT SHRESTHA who escorted me the short distance to the Chhen which was indeed located at the epicentre of Main Street. To my great joy I was allocated the dream room, the Best in the House, which also had a Juliet balcony! I was there over a weekend and for Nepali New Year. The Chhen’s sensational location gave me a fascinating view of Nepali families who flock to Bandipur to don traditional costumes and pose for photos. Watching from my balcony, I felt as if I had a Royal Box at the Opera! PUNAM cooked me delicious breakfasts with the most perfectly bronzed one-egg omelettes. I enjoyed utterly absorbing chats with BIKRAM PIYA who with great enthusiasm explained the commendable, philanthropic history of the Chhen. Through its association with a Scottish Rotary Club it contributes to funding a local school, educating children and training teachers. RAMI, Sumit’s lovely wife, runs the most stylish gift and souvenir shop in Bandipur and I bought two fabulous Nepali masks. Sumit was a wonderful Host introducing me to BASANTA POUDEL of “BANDIPUR VILLAGE SAFARI” who took me on a mindblowing trip to nearby Ramkot (Review pending.) Next door to Bandipur Chhen is SAMSARA, simply the best restaurant and bar in Bandipur. The staff there became an extension of my Chhen family.

Everything! This was my second stay in 18 months. So not disappointed. I had the best sleep and breakfast. They are lovely people and it's right in the heart of Bandipur. They have the best coffee in the village too.

The location on the bazaar is excellent as it’s right in the heart of things. The staff were really helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast had really good options and a great seating area for people watching.

Great little hotel in the middle of Bandipur! Location is perfect and staff are lovely. Breakfast is very basic but nice. Facilities are okay - the room itself is lovely however issues with heating in the bathroom.

Lovely Newari guesthouse in the heart of the town, run by a really helpful couple and great breakfast. We also loved the fact that it’s a social enterprise that supports local schools. Perfect!

“Tveka inte! Boka nu!”

What a wonderful place this is! Our room was very small, but that was made up for by how cozy it was. The house is 100 years old, but carefully and tastefully renovated. The hotel is located in the middle of the main street. By living here, you also support five local schools, as the profit goes to running them.
