“Very memorable.”

The meals were decent and simple. The location is convenient. It is close to the centre and close enough to Batad, Hungduan, etc. Everyone at Rice Homestay was wonderful. Bambino was efficient and amazing at arranging the day tours and needs of the day. Mimi was very hospitable and welcoming. The drivers and guide, Sela, were patient and friendly. They all made our stay in Banaue very memorable.

The food was great. I lost my phone on a hike and they tried to find it contacting the people from the area. We couldn’t find it but they tried their best. Thanks for your help!

“Homely and comfortable”

Homely and comfortable stay which acts as a perfect stage to explore Banaue. Bambino was excellent in organising a personal itinerary for your stay, with very transparent pricing. Food is served all day, and is good quality. All the staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. Rooms and facilities were very clean and well maintained. You typically arrive in Banaue using the night bus in the early hours of the morning. To avoid waiting a few hours for your room to be ready that day, we recommend booking the previous night so you can enter your room on arrival.

Bambino was help, flexible and they pick you up at the bus station and take you back if you do not want to walk the 15-20 minutes to where the bus stops. If I ever return to this part of the world I would stay here again.

“RICE HOMESTAY....WORTH RETURNING TO”

I liked everything about Rice Homestay....The location was perfect-in the centre of Banaue...The room was large and very clean.Sleep quality was excellent...I had all my meals there during the 3 days and the food was very good....I want to mention the staff especially-Mimi,Joemar and most of all Bambino.I wanted a 2 day tour of Banaue and around and Bambino arranged this for me.We went by tricycle and Magellan ( Machete ) the guide/driver was top class...I saw everything I wanted to see.. Rice Homestay is top class and is definitely worth returning to....Top marks...10 out of 10.

BamBino and Bong were incredible hosts! Very welcoming and friendly. The room was basic (as you'd expect at a homestay) but very clean and comfortable. The food at Rice homestay was always delicious. BamBino even helped arrange my Batad and Hapao rice terrace treks on arrival. Highly recommended!

“A gem in the mountains”

The staff is very amicable and helpful, for some problems of the next stay, I had to extend my room for a day and they were very understandable, they also rearranged my already booked excursion to accommodate other destinations. The guides they choose were very good and professional, good English too. The property offer good food and clean and characteristic rooms, free WiFi and also laundry if asked (for a very small fee)

We stayed in the Native House and the Double Room with Balcony—both room types were excellent. The rooms were beautiful, even better than the photos on Booking.com. The Native House can accommodate multiple guests and has a spacious interior, with seating and tables under the house. The homestay is located in a scenic spot, with a lovely river and rice terraces nearby. The staff were extremely friendly, warm, and attentive. The food and drinks were also great. We highly recommend this place to friends and family.

“We had a very nice stay at Rice Homestay!”

First of all, they picked us up from the bus station at 5 AM — a full hour before the scheduled arrival time of the bus from Manila. That was incredibly kind and thoughtful. Before our tour, which they organized for us on the same day, they let us rest in a separate room since ours wasn’t ready yet. That made a huge difference after a long overnight trip. They also let us choose a better room than the one we had originally booked — another kind gesture we truly appreciated. The room looked better than in the pictures, and honestly, everything exceeded our expectations. The staff and guides were very friendly and helpful, and the homestay has a lovely, welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended :)

Our host Bambino was excellent, he organized an exceptional tour for us, in which the hiking visit to Batad and the Tappiyah falls was the absolute highlight. This is thanks to outstanding guidance of our local guide Herson. We then discovered that he had even more talents than patiently guiding us and answering our numerous questions. After shopping and chopping and under the great guidance of our local chef Herson, we enjoyed our first self cooked Filipino meal: Chicken Adobo (which we entirely fell in love with during our holidays in the Philippines). Also big thanks to our homestay host Bambino (rice homestay at Banaue) to allow the friendly takeover of his kitchen! If anyone goes to Philippines (recommended) check for Herson (Facebook: Zonherzon Gahid Samaniego) - he patiently answered all our tons of questions with great knowledge, hiked with us through the mountains and rice fields, showed amazing places, helped with the local shopping, thought all about traditions, got us a local karaoke-bar organised, gave us a long-searched-for cooking lesson and simply was great company.

Amazing homestay with amazing staff! Everyone at Rice Homestay were so friendly and fun, and they made for both a comfortable and culturally enriching experience in Banaue. They picked us up early in the morning at the bus terminal, arranged the best tours - 3 day tour with Banaue rice terraces, Hot spring, Night in Batad, guided tours etc. Benzo was an amazing guide with lots of knowledge about local culture and history and he was also a great karaoke singer! We had so much fun and learned lots(@Benzky88 on Instagram :) ) The food was great and the room was perfect with a beautiful view from the balcony. 10/10

“Lovely homestay, great views, awesome staff”

The staff Bambino and Raymart make this place - Great to chat with! Beautiful views. Comfortable room - they upgraded me as I was travelling solo and so I had a private room instead of dorm with shared bathroom - much appreciated! Really clean room - even provide slippers for the bathroom 😊 Good available is simple but very tasty and handy if you're leaving early/back late. Love that there's the traditional hut on site 💖 The homestay is down quite a few steps but the guys will help with your bags if you need it. You can arrange day tours which Raymart will take you on in the tricycle, although compared to other places, they did seem over priced. I didn't mind so much because they're so kind and do give you lifts to/from the bus but if you're on a tight budget, the tours may not be for you.

“Correct Hotel for one night in Banaue”

The room was correct. There are many stairs if you access to the hotel and the room, just to inform the people.

“Extremely helpful staff”

The staff are the best and the top reason to stay here. Bambino, the manager goes above and beyond to make sure that you are well taken care of. He helped us with payment as we were low in cash and could only pay by card. He was also very kind to let us keep the room for longer without charge on our check out day because my wife was very sick and needed to rest until our long journey back to Manila by bus. Ray, the cook and our guide for the batad tour is also amazing. The food is delicious no matter what you order. He is also a great guide and fun to hang out with. The entire crew is chill and make the stay memorable. The homestay itself offers great views of some rice terraces and the rooms are large with balcony. They also offered us free pick-up and drop-off from the bus stop which was very helpful.
