We booked an overnight stay here, but it was not mentioned in the description that reaching the property requires around a 20-minute hike uphill. Our elderly companion with asthma had a very difficult time getting to the location. If this had been clearly indicated beforehand, we probably would not have booked this place. There is also no cellphone signal in the area, and Wi-Fi is not free, so guests are limited to the property’s paid internet access. We bought 3, 12 hour voucher for internet and we were given only 3 hours. It was only corrected when we checked out. The food is quite overpriced as well. Another downside is the lack of a proper hot shower. We had to endure very cold water in the morning, which was especially uncomfortable given the weather. That said, the view is beautiful and the host was kind and accommodating. It would just be helpful if the Booking.com listing clearly stated that the place is more suitable for backpackers and is not elderly-friendly.

Really loved this place. 10 for the staff: The staff was really awesome! So friendly and always happy (to help). 10 for the view! Probably best view in town and you dont have to walk down to the village. The food is good but the portions are a bit small for big guys. Atmosphere is nice, but add some more hammocks and other chill places to make it excellent

This hotel has the best view, delicious food and very kind and helpful staff. But what we loved the most was our guided tour! We were a bit reluctant on hiring a guide, thinking we could simply hike ourselves. Then we met Ramses and Sarah, two friendly locals who not only took us to a breathtaking viewpoint no one talks about, but also shared so many stories about Batad, and even cooked hand-picked vegetables for us! We also learned to pound rice and took it home. It really felt like being with friends, we felt so lucky! If you want an unforgettable local experience, make sure to ask about them. We will cherish this experience forever!

The team is wonderful, they made everything to make our stay easy and enjoyable, from the pick up at Banaue to the tours in the terraces and to the falls. Then, obviously, there is THE VIEW. It is stunning at every glance. It’s beautiful. The efforts the inhabitants put into the preservation of the multi centennial knowledge are humbling and they are to be praised. So don’t hesitate and treat yourself with the best gift (plus the food is delicious).

“Best Birthday trip”

The property is located overlooking the terraces. You will have the view while sleeping, eating or just hanging out. Generous comfortable pillows. We had 3 each. The hot Nisha has been really excellent catering to our needs. There’s 8 of us. A Bit chaotic and all over the place but they have been very patient. Eric, our driver and tour guide was a cherry on top. My Aunt struggled to finish the Batad your but he took time and waited and helped pull her until she is back in the property, even under the rain. The property kindly provided 5 big sturdy umbrellas during the rain. The communication and information provided before the check in has been very clear and timely. So happy I changed my booking to this property.

Fantastic place to stay in Batad. Views are incredible. Lovely and helpful staff. Millen is very friendly and funny 😀 Good menu choices and delicious food and shakes. They help organise transport from Banaue and local guides, which was all great. Excellent value for money. Thanks everyone.

“Unforgettable stay with breathtaking rice terrace views and a wonderful host”

We spent three wonderful days at Batad Countryside Inn with our family and absolutely loved it. The views of the rice terraces are breathtaking, you can see them directly from the guesthouse and observe real village life around you. The treks in the area were very good but demanding, and incredibly rewarding. Nisha is a fantastic host: always smiling, helpful, and genuinely caring, while actively supporting the local community. A truly special place we’ll always remember.

We were warmly welcomed, and while waiting to check into our clean room, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast from the menu with a fantastic view of the rice terraces. Everything was well organized. Even before our arrival, we were given options to book transportation to the accommodation, tours, and a massage. Be sure to take one of the many walking sticks available at the entrance of the accommodation for the rice terrace hike — they are very helpful when dealing with the changes in elevation. The massages by Ate Josephine and her niece were very relaxing. Many thanks again, and also thank you for the lovely conversations and the excellent organization.

We had a great stay here for 3 nights - Josephine and Nisha are lovely, very welcoming and were always attentive to our needs. We also had a great tour of the rice terraces and waterfall with Wilkie. The place is very cosy and has an amazing view of the terraces. Food was also great, would highly recommend!
