“Exceptional”

Lao Spirit Resort is located in a tranquil setting, and you begin to get a sense for the beauty of the land and the people, away from the hustle and bustle of the town (but close enough to visit). The staff are wonderful and professional, and the room is basic but clean and comfortable with a good view of the river and jungle. The food in the restaurant was delicious, they even made some of the meals vegan. There is a lovely (actual) elephant conservation place a few minutes down the river called Mandalao, really worth a visit (and you can hear the elephants trumpeting in the mornings). Totally worth staying here.

“Peaceful and tranquil gem”

Lao Spirit Resort is a special place to stay on the river. It is peaceful and tranquil and the food is delicious. We did a kayaking trip with a staff member which was a highlight.

We loved everything - the location of the property, the landscaping, the architecture, the balcony attached to our cabin, our views, the natural sounds surrounding us, the dogs, the kitten, the restaurant, the massage, the staff, our tour guide when we went walking, nothing seemed any trouble for anyone.

Wonderful located at the river, staff is extraordinary friendly and helpful and the food is excellent. A lot of activities (trecking, kayaking etc.) are also possible. Surely to be recommended!

“Unusual and relaxed”

Beautiful scene at the banks of the Nam Khan river . the five bungalows are nicely crafted by local craftsmen from the village nearby, with traditional materials. they display a mixture of local and French colonial style. during the dry season, won’t need any air-conditioning, as it’s up in the hills and pretty cool. The view towards the river is amazing. They offer some very good local food at the hotel restaurant, the staff are extremely helpful and they are so lovely , friendly people ! You can do several activities from the resort nearby, for example, visit the elephant camp, canoeing on the river, or do hikes with a local guide. I took the long hike , approximately nine hours , and it was just so beautiful. Luang Prabang is about a half hour drive, the train station is 5 minutes from the resort

Beautiful location if you need quietness, and to get a few days away from the hustle and bustle. Lovely food they offer at this resort too. Rooms a stunning in old colonial style with giant balconies.

A nice place, a bit out of town. Not in totally undisturbed nature though. Good selection of excursions on offer.
