“This is pure Bonlinger. You come to linger, dwell, and let time stretch out along the river.”

This is not luxury — and that’s exactly the point. Staying in a floating studio on the Mekong, sitting on your deck with your feet in the water and a cold Beerlao in hand, is one of those rare travel experiences you don’t forget. The rooms are basic but comfortable, with good air conditioning and everything you need. The island itself is flat and perfect for cycling — we hired bikes and spent hours just exploring at our own pace.

“Pleasant and enjoyable stay”

Room was basic but functional with clean towels offered when required. Owner is very helpful (and speaks English) and will go to great lengths to arrange onward travel, bicycle hire and sunset cruise. Other staff were very helpful too (although communication was limited). Restaurant overlooks to Mekong and is a wonderful place to chill with a drink or a meal Short walk to 3 or 4 good local restaurants Top Tip: book a floating room on the Mekong (we didn’t but wished we had) Top Tip: ask to see all 3 swimming pools. We weren’t aware of others and ours was too polluted to use

“Rustic. Floating room location - excellent”

We had booked a floating room. It’s a wonderful location right on the river and excellent for sitting out on your patio and watching the sunrise and sunset and the life of Don Khone float by. Loads of fish/eels right in front of us. Two great sun loungers and a hanging chair on the patio. Perfect way to start and end the day. Staff and manager couldn’t have done more to help us. The AC in our room was broken so they moved us but we kept the floating room and went there in the mornings and evenings to have coffee and enjoy the view. They were unable to fix the AC during our stay. The food at the restaurant is very good. (The green curry was my favourite) Breakfast was not fancy but enough with nice bread and fresh eggs and fruit/yoghurt.

The best we can mention are the beds, they are clean and comfortable. The breakfast was ok. We did rent bicycles for 30.000 kip each per day, that was ok and fair

“A Really Relaxing end to the holiday”

Good location, warmest pool of the holiday. Helpful staff. Good food.

We stayed in a floating house which was basic but clean, comfy and right on the river with amazing sunsets! Lots of bikes to borrow, great food and very nice staff.

“The perfect stay to layback in Don Khone”

Everything. The room was perfect with its own terrace and garden view facing the Mekong. Comfortable beds, full equiped bathroom and hot shower. There’s a swimming pool to cool down a bit in the afternoon. The restaurant is nice and has a great situation with its terrace view on the river. Included breakfast was very good and came with various choices. We loved spending time there watching the boats and view of Don det. The staff and owner were very polite and helpful. They proposed a lot of services and provided us our return transfer to Ubon. We stayed there 4 and a half days and we rented bicycles so we could enjoy fully the layback atmosphere of the islands.

A wonderful hotel in a uniquely beautiful spot. We had a brilliant time exploring the islands by bike - which you can rent for next to nothing. Staff here are great and very helpful and there’s lots of little restaurants and shops nearby for everything you need.

Location was great I loved the little retrace directly on the Mekong river. Houses are actually floating on the Mekong anchored to the shore with ropes etc so your terrace is literally 20 cm above the rover level. The common area restaurant was quite nice as well Staff very helpful I loved that everyone knows everyone. We basically didn't have to return our scooter back to rental as the accommodation staff told us they know this bikes owner and will return scooters for us. The boat taxi took us directly from the accommodations restaurant which was super convenient. Overall I really enjoyed the whole experience

“Excellent”

Lovely, kind staff. Spacious, well designed, very clean room. Beautiful river view from the restaurant. Excellent meals and snacks. Bike hire available and 3 lovely swimming pools to relax.

“Heavenly floating on the Mekong”

We had a floating room. It was wonderful to be right on the water and the view was great. These are available on booking com but they book up quickly. They are expensive because there are only 8 of them. The room is clean but a dated bathroom. Clean bedding. Nice chairs out on balcony. Restaurant is reasonable too. Breakfast is ok. The pools are ok, they were being cleaned so we couldn’t use them.

Floating studio iron Mekong was lovely with balcony on the water! Great views for sunrise and sunset. Large shower room with good water pressure. Lovely clean swimming pool and gardens. Good varied breakfast. Rented bikes to explore islands. Owner helpful if needed to book trips etc.
