“Helpful, and good night rest”

What made this hostel stand out was how incredibly helpful the staff were. They helped me plan my transportation from Chiang Mai to Laos, and thanks to them I connected with someone who was crossing the border the same day. He spoke the local language, which made the border crossing go very smoothly and stress-free. They also gave useful advice for planning the slow boat trip. On top of that, I really loved the breakfast. Great support, great atmosphere, and a perfect place if you’re travelling onwards to Laos.

The clerk/recptionist/bartender/waiter speaks real good English which is awesome if you need some info The place is clean and the rooftop sunset view is amazing Also they serve a darn good breakfast burrito

Great location for shops and restaurants, also Gibbon Experience office next door. Comfy clean double room. Common space overlooking river at the back. Also saw the monks from our balcony receiving alms in the morning. Great breakfast cafe. Super friendly and helpful staff.

Good location in downtown Houay Xai. Next door to Gibbons Experience. The room is clean and of reasonable size. The building has a roof patio with a nice view over Mekong river. Breakfast is not included but available at nearby restaurants for few dollars.

Rooftop gives awesome views. Room and communal areas are clean.

We had the double bed private room. Nice room, very clean and ideally located. Thanks to our host for giving us helpful details about slow boat travel to Luang Pradang!

We stayed here twice, before and after doing the gibbon experience. It’s two doors down from The gibbon experience office which is handy. The host was super helpful and helped us arrange transport to Luang Prabang via van and train. We also ate breakfast here both times and it was exceptional and reasonably priced. The rooms are simple but have everything you need, and the AC was really good. Overall we had a great stay and would recommend! Oh, also the view from the top floor is stunning!

The people at the reception we’re so friendly and helpfull! We were stranded in Donchai en didn’t know what to do. We called the hostel and they helped us extremely well. We’re so grateful!

We had private room with own bathroom. When you consider that this is hostel and not a hotel you realize that this is very good place The location was perfect and staff 10+#!
