Situated in Newtown, 5 minutes’ drive from Ballyvaughan and Galway Bay, The Waters Country House boasts over 40 acres of farmland at the foot of the Burren Hills. Ailwee Cave, also featuring an underground river and a waterfall, is only 3km from the property. Each room at The Waters features an en suite bathroom, a seating area and a desk. Wi-Fi is available in public areas and it is free of charge. Tea/coffee making facilities are complimentary and available in the dining area. Guests can also enjoy a TV lounge with an extensive library, a licenced bar, sun terrace, a dining room and a wine cellar. A hearty breakfast is served daily in the dining room. The Waters is nestled on a well originated from limestone caves below, once featured in Irish folklore. With free parking, this guest house offers easy access to the stunning Irish countryside. Corcomroe Abbey, an early 13th-century Cistercian monastery, is 20 minutes’ drive away.

“A place with the atmosphere of an old castle”
Amazing place! Definitely worth a stop here. The owners are friendly, and the interiors and overall atmosphere are great. We especially liked the common areas, where you can find games, books, and even buy wine. Breakfast was huge and delicious (Traditional Irish + fresh bread, flakes and fruits) For dinner, you can drive to a nearby town, which is about 15 minutes away.

“Beautiful furnishings, nice breakfast but some important things are missing!”
The building was lovely and the rooms including the breakfast room and the public lounge areas were beautiful with lovely furnishings which gave the place a really nice unique atmosphere. I liked playing chess in one of the rooms with a nice live lit fire. The hosts were nice. Breakfast was really nice and liked how you can have continental and a cooked to order breakfast.

This is a beautiful guest house in a slightly out of the way location. If you like peace and quiet this is perfect. Quiet areas to sit, read and relax. Some very unique features to the house. Lovely courteous host. Very enjoyable home cooked breakfast.
