“Friendly welcoming hostel in a beautiful location.”
I stayed three nights in Ben Lettery. It is a fantastic hostel in a beautiful location. The hiking is tough going but gives fantastic views from the summits. The main bonus at the hostel was the welcome from Mario and the superb breakfast he provided. Mario actually collected me from where my hike ended which was a relief to my feet after 10.5 hours of hiking. I really appreciated that.

Wasn't expecting the free breakfast. Homemade bread was great, the flapjacks were incredible. Great vibe, clean, beautiful location.

Mario was so welcoming. The place felt like home. Fire was lit and was very cosy. Breakfast was perfect 👌 we will definitely stay again and would highly recommend it.

“A great value hostel in an excellent location for the adventurer”
The hostel is in a beautiful location on the lower slopes of Ben Lettery overlooking a beautiful lake. Facilities at the hostel were very good, nice big kitchen and a great breakfast in the morning. There are no shops or bars nearby, Joyce’s bar in Recess is about 6 miles away and the Fisherman’s bar at Ballynahinch castle is about 3 miles away - I went to Ballynahinch castle where the food and choice of beer was excellent and not overly expensive. All the staff at the hostel were very warm, friendly and helpful. The hostel is also in a great location if you want to go walking up the numerous peaks just round the back of the hostel. The hostel was great value for money

“Shelter in the Storm”
Drove to Ben Lettery during Storm Dave and was greeted with a warm fire in the sitting room of the hostel. After a quick tour of the facilities, I settled in for the evening. Staff members were cheerful and helpful. Hostel manager Mario was great, with excellent recommendations for hill walks etc. All in all, a great place to stay, rain or shine.
