“Great value and great hosts! Those who want to experience staying in a rorbu should definitely book this place!”

The rorbu was located in a quiet place and the decor was very rustic and homely, allowing us to experience how it was like to live in a fishermen’s cabin. It is also conveniently located in the middle of Lofoten, so it takes about a 1.5h drive to either Å or Svolvær, and a 20min drive from Leknes airport. The hosts were very friendly too! They took time to explain the various must-see sights in Lofoten and even drove 30min to the rorbu during bad weather to fix our toilet. Really appreciate that they went out of their way to make us feel right at home. (:

The stay in Ballstad was a great experience and the perfect base for exploring the rest of Lofoten Islands. The cabin was incredibly cozy with all the necessary equipment for a perfect stay. I absolutely recommend this beautiful accommodation and superb host, Hege. She was really friendly and helpful.

The heater in bunk bed unit is not working. There is no shower stall door.(After shower is hard to keep floor dry)

Everything! I love 1000X with this place. From the communication thru this apps Hege attention very fast. She explain details. The property have everything that i want like stay at your own home. Washing machine with detergent, fireplace, kitchen, fridge and free first aid for us 😊. Really comfy and warm home. We cooked everyday. The location my expectation will be busy but suprised very calm and quiet even the boat passby. And what make me love even more almost everyday Aurora keep dancing in front of us. I just keep checking from the window. Can see from inside or just go outside. Breathtaking. Please do not think twice if u want to stay here 🙈

“Best stay in Ballstad”

The rorbuer is nice and cosy, directly on the water, with the view of the port on one side and the mountain on the other. Ballstad has beautiful viewpoints and is in a perfect position to visit the south and centre of Lofoten. Hege and the husband are wonderful people. They have been helpful and kind. They equipped the house with anything we could possibly need, they gave us tips for places to visit and food to try, they have been super responsive and welcoming. I definitely recommend this stay. For the house, the hosts, and also the people in Ballstad, all very nice.

Whatever I say about this stunning Rorbeur will fall short of the marvellous stay we had here. Hege met us on the evening we arrived, gave us a tour of the property, explained the history and what a Rorbeur is. She also had the fireplace running and showed us how to start it too! The property was excellent…might I say a very niche place. There are lots of nick-knacks for wonderful photos (keeping with the nautical/fishing theme). We also saw faint Aurora on our first evening, and the second evening a stronger one. Hege also informed us of the Aurora in the sky over chat the same evening (so thoughtful of her as we told we wanted to see NordLys). I highly recommend this place for a relaxed stay. I wish we had a day extra to stay here and soak up this place and the wonderful town of Ballstad.

Very nice and kind host.

Had everything equipped to spend a few nights. The host Heigi waited for us at 8pm and showed us around the property which was lovely. Our whole duration was wet and windy so we cut our exploration time short so the cable tv came in handy!

The owner is very helpful n kind helping 2 of our members to gum their shoes that lasted the whole journey of the holiday.

Very warm and cozy. Well equipped with everything needed in a home away from home! Even saw the Northern Lights!!😍

“A real Rorbuer!”

We could not ask for more. Naustplassen Rorbuer is a real fisherman’s cabin. It is warm, it is cozy and has everything you might need during your stay. The Rorbuer is spacious and very well equipped. The communication with the host was great and it was a wonderful stay for us. We hope to be back!

An authentic rorbuer, with lots of space and flexible sleeping arrangements. Friendly host with good recommendations. We stayed two nights, perfect to visit lovely beaches, kayak in Eggum and good access to local walks.
