“Simply outstanding!”

What a sensational guest house. I am struggling to find the words to describe how wonderful our stay was at Craggan. Martyn and Louise are sensational hosts and the guesthouse is gorgeous! They have renovated it over a 6 year period since purchasing the property and have done a sensational job. Everything has been thought of, is quality and is so tasteful! Louise’s breakfasts are to die for - undoubtedly the best we experienced during 5 weeks of travelling through the UK and Ireland! Before arriving at Craggan, we spent a night at Glenapp Castle, a very luxurious castle that is a member of the Relais & Chateaux network. Even though we loved our Glenapp experience, we actually preferred our experience at Craggan :)

Louise and Martyn were really kind and very friendly and had a warm welcome for us. The breakfast was delicious with fresh fruits, freshly cooked food and amazing cakes! The room was nice and comfortable and we had our own patio. The bed was really comfortable! A great stay with lovely hosts!

This place is just superb. From the moment we were met by Martyn through to our departure, was simply perfect. The building and rooms are great, so much attention to detail and everything a visitor needs, the extra cakes and shortbread in the rooms were gorgeous. Breakfast choice and quality was beyond 5 star hotel standard and throughout our stay Martyn and Louise were helpful, friendly and genuinely nice people. We will be going back to the Cairngorms and will 100% go back to Graggan.

Cosy and homely property which was remote but easy access to Ballater with a half hour walk or a few minutes by car. A 10 minute drive to Balmoral/Crathiie and other areas of interest. Breakfasts were fresh and delicious with lots of choice. Martyn and Louise were wonderful hosts and have thought of everything to make your stay a pleasure. Probably the best B&B We have ever stayed in. The most stunning area. Would recommend and not hesitate to return.

It starts with its great location outside, but close to Ballater, offering a marvellous view. The house interior is very nice and cosy, the suite was spacious and offered all amenities we have been looking for. The biggest assets are nevertheless Louise and Martyn; they have provided a generous and relaxed hospitality we haven’t encountered before in any B&B. And Louise, I have to mention that, is an excellent chef with a great breakfast and dinner experience.

We stayed at 17 properties on our UK trip and this was our absolute favourite by far. A beautiful couple with a very cosy, welcoming home. Our room was immaculate and our bed was like sleeping in a big marshmallow. The bathroom was big and everything was perfect, right down to the freshly baked lemon drizzle cake to go with our cuppa ☺️ Breakfast was delicious and more baking was offered to us for our journey ahead. Thank you so much for having us, your home is beautiful ❤️

“Everything you wish for and than some!”

Everything was taken care of in great detail. Room was spacious, bed was super comfortable, bathroom was superb with a beautifully designed and spacious walkin shower and everything was thought off. The hosts are super people and we will come back if we travel back to Scotland again. I was a bit under the weather and Matthew offered me a very nice glass of smooth local whiskey. It was soothing to the throat and made me sleep well. Breakfast was exactly what we like (continental and light with fruit, yoghurt and croissants) but other guests were enjoying a superb choice of heartier breakfast fare.

Views and setting excellent. Quiet at night, no traffic. Spacious comfortable room. As we were two ladies our hosts offered us two single duvets as the bed was king size so that was helpful. Breakfast excellent.
