We had an exceptional stay at Splendor Residence and can only give our highest recommendation. The rooms are very spacious, spotlessly clean and beautifully designed. Everything feels stylish and well thought out. We especially loved the large balcony, the fridge, the very comfortable soft bed, and the reliable Wi-Fi. A true highlight was the bathroom – absolutely stunning. The best shower we’ve had in Sri Lanka, honestly better than many showers back home in Germany. The rooms are simply excellent. The location is idyllic and peaceful, hidden in the forest next to a beautiful lake. It’s incredibly quiet, surrounded by nature, and you can spot many animals and birds. We did a boat tour on the lake to the islands, which was fantastic – lots of birds and a truly special atmosphere. A very special mention goes to Niroshan, the host and owner. He is the best host you could possibly imagine. You immediately feel that this place is his life’s project. He built everything piece by piece, on his own, with incredible passion, attention to detail and heart – and it truly shows in every corner of the property. Together with his wife, they were always kind, attentive, warm and genuinely caring. Every wish was fulfilled without hesitation. This was one of the best services we’ve ever experienced anywhere. And then the food… absolutely outstanding. Niroshan cooks himself, and you can clearly tell that he is a professionally trained chef. Every dish was perfectly seasoned, incredibly tasty and full of flavor – we never had to add anything. The Rice & Curry was phenomenal, easily one of the best we had in Sri Lanka. We also spent New Year’s Eve here, with a wonderful special menu and a lovely program with artists – it was a truly memorable and beautiful evening. The pool was perfectly clean, and swimming there every morning was a joy. Price–performance is excellent, there are honestly no points of criticism, no suggestions for improvement – everything was spot on.

It’s a real gem of a place, where nature meets comfort. We loved our room and the spectacular views it offered over the lake. It’s a family run small hotel and the owners as well as the staff go out of their way to make you have a unforgettable experience. The food was home cooked and delicious and the pool simply stunning.

We had an Amazing experience in Splendour Residence. The room was huge and comfortable the staff was amazing - great meals, tours, just overall they took care to any of any of our requests. They even have a free tuk tuk to drive you to the near town and back Great shower with hot water all day long. Best view from a hotel room that we had!

Our experience at Splendour Residence was nothing short of exceptional. They went above and beyond to make our stay truly memorable, showing genuine care and attention to every detail. The food deserves special mention : was consistently delicious, fresh - giving us a real taste of Sri Lankan hospitality. Beyond the comfort of the residence, we were delighted by the activities offered. Renting a bike allowed us to explore the local surrondings at a relaxed pace, while the boat tour gave us a uniquie perspective of the lake's natural beauty. We highly recommend staying here to anyone visiting Sri Lanka.

“Srilankan hospitality meets nature”

1. Hospitality by Niroshan and his wife was top class. They have 2 team members who are super efficient and will fix everything immediately. 2. The food was fantastic. especially the srilankan food. 3. I developed knee pain, Niroshan himself came and gave me a balm. Realised later that he never charged me. 4. Each room has a large balcony facing the beautiful lake. It's a treat. 5. The rooms are very well maintained. including the bathroom. Which is very clean. 6. Massage was arranged, with complementary coconut water. It was very good made me and wife more relaxed. 7. Surrounded with greenery everywhere. With a lot of birds and living insects ... which is nature at its best around you.

“Perfect stay to relax and enjoy luxury in Sri Lanka”

Everything was perfect! The host with his family and staff was so kind to us and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. We only stayed for 2 nights but would have liked to stay a little longer. The swimming pool was clean and a nice temperature, the food was delicious and made with love. The view on the lake was so beautiful. This was the best room we got during our 28 days stay in Sri Lanka. It was very clean, the shower was good and it was nicely designed. Extra compliments for the owner, the family and the staff! They were smiling all the time. We can't thank them enough for our experience

Every element of the experience at Splendour was exceptional from the classy modern design, the contemporary nature-themed artwork to the stunning setting with beautiful views of the lake. The owners are very special people who dedicate themselves to making your stay the best it can be. The hotel is spotlessly clean. The food of all cuisines was of a high quality particularly the Sri Lankan food. All of the local activities were organised for us. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the serenity. But the real treat here is the hospitality extended by the owners and staff. Nothing was ever too much trouble and our needs were often anticipated. We feel very fortunate to have stayed here with memories that will last a lifetime. A unique experience of Sri Lanka that should not to be missed. 11/10!

We arrived here in the night and in the middle of the only storm we experienced in our fortnight in Sri Lanka. This is a very special family run place in the most formidable grand design style building with stunning architecture. Waking up to Sri Lanka with this view was an unforgettable experience. The room was vast. The warmth of the family was palpable. We were coming from a business trip so I left a suitcase here for two weeks. They checked in with me regularly and I knew my things were totally safe. Thank you for such a special introduction to a very special trip :)

We’ve been visiting Sri Lanka with our family for many years, but very few places have impressed us as much as Splendour Residence. Sure, there might be some minor imperfections here and there – but they’re completely outweighed by how smoothly everything runs and how exceptional the guest care is. The staff is absolutely fantastic – from the owner to every single member of the team. Everyone is kind, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. Our little daughter received such lovely attention and care, and it made the whole stay even more special for us. The food was excellent, and the surroundings – both indoor and outdoor – were beautiful. There is a clear emphasis on space and comfort throughout the property, which we truly appreciated. The entire hotel feels well-thought-out, peaceful, and harmonious. I sometimes give a 10/10 rating on Booking, even when a place has a few flaws that are balanced by other strengths. But Splendour Residence deserves more than just a perfect score. If I could rate it higher, I absolutely would. We even changed our travel plans just to stay a little longer – that’s how much we loved it here. And if we ever return to Sri Lanka, there’s no doubt – we’ll be coming back here.

Absolutely spectacular views over Madu Lake and utterly peaceful. It’s a modern and very spacious design which sits inconspicuously in the landscape. The owners are so lovely and our Sri Lankan curry was the best we had in our month in Sri Lanka.

Beautifull, wonderfully quiet hotel with spacious rooms, excellent bathrooms and a fabulous view from the windows to the lake. The staff and hotel owners are wonderful people - very friendly, kind and helpful. They satisfied all our wishes 🙂 They even cooked food according to our request, which was not on the menu. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful 😋 We would very much like to come back here again and recommend it to friends 👍

Beautiful artistic building (inside and outside) in a even more beautiful scenery looking out over the lake. Turned out that the owner is also chef, and a great one. The food, the service, the views, the pool, the terrace, the rooms and all the personal artwork scattered around the hotel is amazing. Don't hesitate, book this place. You will love it.
