I think this was the most beautiful bed I slept in Sri Lanka. And the best decorated living room and balcony. The owner has very good taste! There's a kitchen you can use , even cook if you buy your own gas bottle and the extra refrigerator in the room is a treat. Hot water all day and night and good WiFi, also fan and a/c. It's on the first floor and the balcony is big and cozy. Breakfast is big and for only 1500lkr . The Homestay is named after the owner's daughter and comes in very good price, especially in an area that's to expensive! Rashmi and her brother and sister , speak English so you can ask them for anything you need The Oru Wella Beach, which is amazing is less than 10 minutes walk(but you have to use Google maps gps, or else you'll get lost or take the long way. The Balapitiya Beach natural pool is even closer. But if you want to go to the centrer or other main beach you will need a tuk tuk , cause is more than 20 minutes walk. Even if iits close to the main road, the house is located in the back of the property so there's no noise getting to you , even if you sleep with the windows opened like me!

“Nice spot for beaches and safari”

Clean and nice room. 10 minutes walking to two beautiful beaches. We stayed here for the nice River safari (the host offered us to do the safari, but we already booked with another company).

The hosts were very friendly although I arrived at midnight. Zero luxury but zero problems. Perfect for me for my first night and probably nice for a longer stay too (large sitting room and nice porche). Good bed.

The families that manage the guesthouse are super nice and welcoming. The room is just perfect, with a real comfortable bed, huge inside toilet and a beautiful terrace where you can enjoy a meal or just chill out! Great position just 5 minutes walk from an astonishing beach and close to shops and restaurants. Highly recommended for a peaceful local experience

i felt safe there as a female solo-traveller. It‘s not touristy there at all and the beach is reachable on foot. also i got a huge breakfast there which was SO good :)

It was a calm ,comfortable place near to Madu gaga. Good facilities also there

Clean and tidy near the beach

The family we stayed with were extremely friendly, accommodating and helpful. The rooms were clean. My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary whilst we stayed and the family surprised us with a cake and a card. We really became part of the family and will definitely be back again.

“A warm authentic Sri Lankan staying”

I cannot tell you how at home I felt with Samid. They made me feel comfortable since the first very beginning. When I got there they welcome me with a Papaya juice and a warm smile. The room was cleaned and the private bathroom as well. The fan is perfectly above the bed so no issue on sleeping even though when it’s hot outside. I couldn’t find any place for dinner around and they offer to cook dinner and breakfast for me at really cheap prices. I spent the whole evening with the family and I had great moments together with them. I went to Balapitiya to spend authentic time with locals and I think I succeeded in that. Thanks 🙏🏻

A friendly and very caring host, not only recommended, but also spent his time showing many interesting and beautiful places in the area. The whole family is friendly, they stayed with us as friends. Very tasty and plentiful breakfast and dinner. I highly recommend this place.
