The hotel is located facing very clean tropical beach and is surrounded by beautiful garden. Is conveniently located for Madu river safari with trip to Cinnamon Island and demonstration of cinnamon preparation. The hotel will book for you the sightseeing trips. The rooms a very spacious and comfortable with en suit large bathroom. Is very clean inside and out. The owners and staff made lot of effort to ensure that all our needs were met. The home cooked food was delicious. Thank you very much for looking after us.

Quiet and friendly resort run by family with spacious rooms in large garden. From the garden you walk onto the practically deserted beach. The food is also very good. If you are looking for a tranquil and comfortable stay this place is a gem.

This is a lovely piece of land with frontage to a beautiful beach. My room had a comfortable terrace, with views over the garden. The land has lovely shrubs and trees. Great bird life. Service by staff was excellent.

The location of the property was perfect, just set back from an uncrowded beach at the edge of the non touristy town of Balapityia. I stayed in the garden bungalow which had had a recent addition of a veranda , making a perfect shady spot to chill and read. The staff made the ‘property ‘ though. All so caring . I was ill whilst there and they took me to the Doctors and then cooked food that I was able to eat and checked on me through the days - I was so well looked after.

What a gem! A private, peaceful garden setting on a wide, empty beach...we avoided all the hassles of the touristy beach scene but were close enough to be able to take advantage of it when we wanted. The staff members were all fantastic, going above and beyond to make us comfortable and supply special needs. I will definitely be back!

A bit of a hidden gem between Galle and Colombo. Quiet hotel with a beautiful garden of mature trees next to a very wild beach. The family are very welcoming and make an excellent rice and curry. There's a very interesting boat tour they can organise for you plus a few beach restaurants further down the shoreline. Would thoroughly recommend for anyone wanting a bit of peace and relaxation.

“Best stay in Balapitiya - Best cook in Sri Lanka!”

The Raja Beach Hotel was a really great experience! I stayed there for 12 days and might come back. Not only for the beautiful and relaxing graden also for the most amazing food I had so far in Sri Lanka. (Total travels 2,5 Months) The beach is directly infront of the hotel and really beautiful. Best for morning runs and afternoon swims and you have it almost for yourself. So if you look for a relaxing stay with amazing food on the beach, this is the place to be! I can only highly recommend staying with Steffen and his beautiful Sri Lankan Family. Again thank you so much. I will definitely come back!

Exceptional group of staff who quickly became like family. The food was amazing, and could be custom made each time to suit my Veggie preferences. The room was HUGE and there was enough space to roam even though I was in quarantine for the week. 10/10

The home-cooked Sri-Lankan food was delicious. The owners and family who work there are very friendly and caring. The beach is empty, besides the fishermen on the beach. This is the place for you if you want a relaxing, quiet, and real Sri-Lankan experience. We will be returning!

The room in the main building is ample. A lot of european sockets, nice balkony. The territory is lovely and quiet. The ocean is 20 steps away. The beach is vast, no people at all. You feel like the whole beach is yours. But the most precious about the place is the family running the hotel - incredibly hearty, helpful and delicate.
