We spent an exceptional few days at this lovely resort. The clean, spacious room overlooked the river, mountains and the famous Badulla-Ella railway track. A real tranquil experience! The restaurant served delicious freshly cooked meals (pre-order two hours beforehand) at very reasonable prices, plus beer and soft drinks are also available. The staff are an absolute delight, so friendly, engaging and will go out of their way to help you. We have never stayed in a place where the staff are so regularly checking to see that everything is to your satisfaction or if you require anything. Exemplary customer service skills! The resort arranged for a tuk tuk to meet us from the railway station and, as it is a narrow fairly steep descent to the resort, for any transport requirements including a tour - with the same careful, friendly tuk tuk driver. Thank you Bookinda Resort for such a wonderful tranquil experience, particularly to Hansi - you are one of the most organised, hospitable hosts we’ve come across in our 60 years of travelling 🙏.

Easy to use as a base for visiting nearby locations. Property itself is surrounded by forest with a river on your doorstep for just chilling out. Hansi was super attentive throughout & easy to contact on Whatsapp

“Excellent stay with family”

Stayed one night with the family (9 people in 4 rooms). Nice place quite close to city but pretty isolated with a cool atmosphere. Situated inside a large enough land for tranquility, it is on the bank of the river Badulu Oya. Rooms were clean & nice. a well maintained garden. Got two meals & the food were served at the 2nd floor restaurant, which was very good. Owner Mr. Gunawardhana was a nice person with a friendly & a helpful gesture.You can get a nice view of the train which is just on the other of the river bank. Note: The last 300m of the by-road to the hotel is still under construction & would be hard for a vehicle either with a low ground clearance or light weight rear wheeled short wheel based vehicles (Vanette, Townace vans like). If you are going by such, please inform the owner before hand, so that he'll arrange you some transport. (There is a safe place to park the vehicle before this section of the road as well)

Second time I stay here as I haven’t found something similar in Badulla. Calm place a bit out of the centre. Anyway, they have their tuktuk that gets you in the city and comes to pick you up when you call them - at a fixed price. Kitchen is OK, haven’t tried a lot though. The place is generally well maintained, clean, and the staff is pleasant.

The location is excellent. We booked a family room very clesn. You can hear sound of water flowing in the river next to your room. Beautifful location. Oly a small car or tuk tuk can reach this location. Staff are excellent. Internet access is limited on phone data even the wifi is not very good.staff are ecellent and helpful.

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, always ready to help. The food was delicious, with a great variety of options. I also loved the beautiful view from my room—it made the stay even more enjoyable.

Beautiful location. So peaceful, listening to the river, birds & insects (oh & the occasional train!) Very relaxing place to stay. 5-10 min walk up a steep drive to 2 decent cafes. 20 mins walk to town. Hansi the host was extremely communicative & attentive. Nothing was too much trouble: local information, trips, organising tuk tuk etc. amazing host. We really enjoyed our stay. All the rooms would have a beautiful view as the location is stunning.

It was very cheap. The room wasn't finished, but they let us use it as the rest of the family were staying there. The staff were very nice. It's a difficult place to get to but the staff are very organised and helpful.

Good value, paid a really low price and you get an amazing setting. beautiful location away from the direct hustle of the area, good service from the team there, always ready to help and accommodate our needs.

Staff were very good, was a bit hectic as there were 11 of us who arrived late and left early but they were in regular contact and pre-sent menus so food could be ordered and ready for our arrival and then arranged our transport to catch the train early the next day. The Sri Lankcan breakfast was amazing too. Views are amazing too.

We spent an amazing and most memorable few days at this resort. The staff are exceptional and they go above and beyond to ensure that guests are looked after in the best possible way. The resort is in a phenomenal location where you are close to and have views of the river and the waterfall. The views of the passing train and the surrounding mountains and forests are amazing. The breakfasts are substantial and beautifully presented in a lovely dining area also enjoying the magnificent views. Badulla is a place you must go to for its outstanding waterfalls, views and to experience Sri Lankan culture. The staff at the hotel arranged our tour and general transport arrangements ensuring that they provided the best possible value. We highly recommend the Boo Kirinda Holiday Resort.

Friendly staff, quiet environment, tasteful breakfast. The location is a bit away from the center, but that’s why it’s so peaceful there. When you arrive they help you to get to the place with a tuk tuk.
