“Enjoyed it very much.”
Location in the middle of the old town, a few minutes walk to the bus station. We were accommodated in the Kolberbrau, which has a lift, rather than the Kolbergarten. Breakfast was really good with a comprehensive buffet, and our room was a charming period, almost suite, with a modern bathroom.

The Kolbergarten ( an impressive looking villa in wooded grounds) is the annexe of the Kolberbräu hotel. We were upgraded to the main hotel (where breakfast is served and underground car park is located) in a lovely room overlooking the main shopping street. The staff were all very friendly

“Glorious art deco elegance”
This once-grand hotel is apparently only being used as overflow accommodation for the main Posthotel Kolberbrau across the road. All the reception, lounge and dining rooms were closed off downstairs and you have to check in at the other hotel. Nonetheless, the art deco room was magnificent - huge and elegantly furnished. It felt like we'd stepped into an Agatha Christie novel. The bathroom alone was bigger than my whole hotel room in Berlin! We loved this place.
