“Romantic Getaway”

We spent a wonderful weekend getaway at the Doerr Landhotel & Spa and couldn't be more pleased with the experience. This romantic countryside hotel offers everything you need to truly relax and unwind. We booked a Deluxe Doppelzimmer mit Balkon on a Halbpension basis, and were delighted by the spaciousness of the room, which featured a separate sleeping and seating area, as well as a nicely equipped bathroom. Everything was spotless and tastefully furnished, adding to the comfort of our stay. The Spa area is extensive and immaculately maintained, with a large indoor swimming pool, multiple saunas, steam baths, and restful lounging areas. It’s the perfect retreat after a day spent exploring the scenic Sauerland, which is ideal for both long walks and cycling tours. A true highlight was the culinary experience. Both breakfast and dinner were absolutely outstanding — breakfast offered an exceptionally wide variety of fresh, high-quality choices, and the evening meals lived up to the reputation of the hotel's highly acclaimed restaurant. The staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and professional — especially the servers in the restaurant, who made every mealtime feel special.. All in all, this is a charming and luxurious hideaway that we would gladly return to. Highly recommended for couples looking for a romantic and relaxing escape

Location, room

“Traditional German hotel with good facilities”

This is a traditional German hotel, so is very comfortable. Food is good with plenty of options. Very helpful young man on reception. Free and safe car parking. Excellent hiking straight from the door . Local trains and buses stop next to the hotel (not noisy or disturbing)

Staff was extremely friendly, dinner was excellent as was the massage. The spa area was very nice, too.

very poor wifi I was not allowed to have my laptop in the restaurant

There was no internet in my room (17), and there were no options to enable it ( router it far away) For the spa bathrobe and 2 small towels was in the room, but no slippers

The hotel is different, with a interesting internal layout. The spa is very pleasant, though as we visited it in the last day of the season, not all facilities worked as expected ( steambath not warm enough, aroma bath without aroma). But I'm sure it would look way better in full season. Rooms are quirky, bathroom on the small side but more than sufficient. Dinner menu was reduced but all the plates were delicious.
