The hotel is placed on the top of a very steep hill, surrounded by beautiful forests, yet very close to Bad Ems. The owner is very professional, at the same time easy going, no problem with communication. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was quite exceptional, with some excellent homemade stuff. Overall, the atmosphere was really nice. I can strongly recommend it!

There is so much that is good about this hotel, the position in the woods on the edge of a precipice overlooking Bad Emms, the wonderful breakfast and the staff.

This is a beautiful quaint hotel tucked away in the hills with a beautiful view of Bad Ems. Very peaceful. The room was lovely with a lovely balcony, the hosts very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is excellent. Loved everything about Berghotel Wintersberg.

quiet, slightly dated, but comfortable and very clean. we were disappointed that the restaurant was not open, but we had an excellent (& unexpected) meal the first evening. the food was the best we had in the locality.

This was our second stay at Berghotel Wintersberg and we had a lovely time. We've travelled across Europe with two little children so we really appreciated the box of Lego that awaited us in our room! The breakfast is fabulous, the beds are very comfortable and the rooms are spacious and clean. We will be back!

“Good hotel when you can find it”

Room comfortable, but dark - probably due to the close proximity of the forrest. Superb views from the terraced patio. Breakfast was good. Address of hotel not good as the address given is the postal address hotel is some 3 miles away up a long forrest track. Then one has to telephone the owner to get the passwords for the key safe. If it was not for the help of a local man & his son, we would never have found the place. Owner needs to address the directions provided on Booking.com

Very comfortable accommodation in a lovely location. We appreciated the tea and coffee making facilities and the bar fridge.

Beautiful location, great views all around. Very comfortable rooms, excellent food, a lot of loving detail. We were a family group which had booked three bedrooms and the owner gave us deliberately one bigger room with two sofas, so we could sit together in the evening.
