“Calm and Silent Place to Stay”

First of all, it was quite calm and silent. Sonja is really helpful lady. Breakfast was ok. In general it was nice I would say.

A comfortable guest house - we struck it in winter when most of the town is closed - it was opned up for us, and it felt a bit abandoned due to the time of year (as did the whole town) - but it was perfect for our needs as a base for the middle Rhine. Great breakfast, basic but comfortable accomodation at a good price.

Absolutely lovely place. The host Sonya was so friendly and very helpful. They make wine as well and it was delicious. Breakfast was very good as well. The area is so beautiful and to go for a little cruise on the Rhine down the road was great as well.

Clean, comfortable bed, good shower, hot water. Breakfast was plentiful and satisfying, good hot coffee, warm bread rolls, cereal and continental platter. Nice common area indoor and outdoor. Wine from the Zur Fledermaus label and other drinks available to purchase which was very convenient. The local bus service was good to get up and down the hill to Bacharach from which you can explore the region by bus boat or train. It is a 30 min walk. We found a small restaurant nearby that serves fresh delicious meals at Bei der Post, otherwise restaurants are in Bacharach town. Would definitely recommend!

The accommodation is far from restaurants and train stations by walking, but it also gives us the opportunity to admire the steep vineyards along the road. The breakfast is rich and the room is comfortable. An electric teapot, tea bags, and coffee bags are also provided. The host is very kind and take us to the train station when we were leaving. We will choose it again for our stay next time.

“Wonderful, quiet stay on the edge of town.”

The host came to pick us up from the train station when we first arrived, which was a very pleasant surprise. Both hosts, Sonja and Eckhart, were delightful. The bedroom was large and comfortable. There was also a dining room/lounge where you could spend the evening, as well as a patio (though too cold for us). It was a 20/25 minute walk into town, though very pleasant, walking alongside the mountain stream.

Incredible host and attention to detail. Easy and helpful communication.

“Quiet location a fair walk from village centre”

We had a blast a wonderful stay at Zum Fledermaus. 5 days of great food, lots of hikings, and wine tasting. 5 super hospitable days. The breakfast had everything you needed to start the day. The hostess and host were very helpful. it is clear that everything was brought with love. I recommend it. The rooms are traditional German with lots of cosyness. Bathroom is clean and modern. If you stay at Zum fledermaus, for sure, ask for a tour in the winery. You will be surprised what's under the B&B.....

Breakfast was delicious and abundant, and since the family owns a vineyard with wine for tasting and buying at the location and in a store in Bacharach, that made it a lovely Rhine wine experience too! Hostess Sonja was most welcoming and friendly.

Owners were very friendly & helpful! Thank you!!!! Comfy bed & bedding with external bathroom Very old / out-dated, but super clean! Also other rooms with own bathrooms Breakfast was amazing with a variety of cold meats/cheeses/spreads to eat (pre-set at your own seating in the morning) There is a communal kitchen to share After a long day of walking around, and you just want to catch some breath and freshen up again... private courtyard to enjoy a cold beer or a glass of wine from the B&B's own winery! You do need some form of transport, as it is quite a distance (5min car drive) from Bacharach centrum, but it is walkable too (just watch-out for the steep hill going back to the B&B) Beautiful, romantic little town with lots to do and all attractions within easy walking distance Little supermarket in centrum to get the necessary (if needed) Been to the "biergarten" for light meal/drinks next to the theater and the Spanish restaurant (Luz de Mar) situated on the old wall, definitely highly recommended Their calamari TOPS and friendly staff!
