“Lovely place from a lovely family! The property is a little mess outside but all the rooms and facilities are really gre”
The rooms are very new and very clean. Nice bathroom with hot shower. The room had good working AC and a smart tv. At the property are free bikes that you can take which makes it perfect to bicycle around the city!

“Great room in Bacalar”
Ariel made our stay in Bacalar so enjoyable. The minute we arrived he took his time to explain many things to us regarding the town and the room itself. He provided really helpful recommendations. He excels as a host and you can tell he cares about the guests. The room was absolutely comfortable. The wifi worked properly and we were able to netflix and chill each night after biking around town with the bikes Ariel kindly let us use. The property is located close to the main road and a 20-pesos ride away from the ADO bus station. I really recommend Villa Akbal!

“Great budget stay”
Great budget accommodation. They let us have our dog there and were welcoming and accommodating of any requests. Other reviews had mentioned a bar at night, but we were there over the weekend and it was very quiet all night.

“Good value for money in Bacalar!”
We had a lovely stay at the villa. Our room was very spacious with good air conditioning and some kitchen amenities. The free bikes were great for exploring the town!

To be honest, we did not expect much from this accommodation and got positively surprised. The host has put so much love and thought into it! - Good location: about 8 min walk to ADO and 10 min to the main square in town - spacious room with lots of possibilities to put your clothes - fridge, microwave, knive, cups, plates, free instant coffee, chopping board, hair dryer, it has literally everything that makes a budget accommodation comfortable - there is a table and chairs inside the room and multiple sitting areas outside in the shade - free bicycles and locks are provided, you could also rent a Kajak for 350 pesos here - the host was really nice and gave us lots of useful recommendations
