The hotel overall is quite nice. The room was very big and had a balcony with a view. The location is convenient. They serve a good paid breakfast in the morning, and it is quite cheap.

“Beautiful small hotel in Bacalar”
Meticulously clean loved the cotton bed sheets and comfortable bed. We had a big balcony with a beautiful view. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was perfect a short walk to town and to the beautiful lake.

Really comfortable bed and pillows. Spotlessly clean. Huge balcony which we loved! Great location quiet but five minutes from the main square and cafes and restaurants. Five minutes walk from the lagoon.

“Probably the best reasonably priced hotel in Bacalar”
We were hesitant about which hotel in Bacalar to choose. We decided to go for the Maria Maria and we happened to hit the bullseye because the hotel had everything we were looking for. The location is just perfect- within a few minutes walking to the main square where all the life is at night yet far enough to be perfectly peaceful and quiet. Oh, and the access to the lake was literally one block away from the hotel. The streets are really quiet and a bit darkish at night but definitely safe, nothing to worry about walking back home. This location is much better than somewhere deeper inside the town because it gives you a 2-10mins walking distance to all attractions, the Central Park, and all the good eateries from Bacalar. About the room itself, it was very nice, cozy, well equipped, with a comfy bed and hot water in the shower without any shortage. Free drinking water refill station outside the room. There’s a laundry service some 20 meters away.

Excellent staff, very kind and gentle. They were agreed to leave us extra time after our checkout because a terrible night that we passed due to some meal we ate at Los hijos del Cocho, be careful with that restaurant

“Great hotel in quiet neighborhood”
Very nice helpful and polite staff. Great breakfast included. Location, quiet street, comfy beds. 10 minutes walk to the main square and 4 minutes walk to the lake.
