The room was great, clean and with a hot shower. We made dinner in the shared kitchen and ate on the upstairs terrace which was a treat. A chilled place to hang out and people watch. It's centrally located only a 5 min walk to the town or lagoon. Zayed is a wealth of knowledge and offers boat tours which are reasonably priced. Wouldn't hesitate on staying again.

The place is exactly as advertised. I had a comfortable stay. Place was clean and close to the lagoon and park, where you will find restaurants.

We stayed five days in Casa Bonzay and enjoyed our stay! The location is quiet, room is spacious and the owner Zayed is really friendly. We loved that there is kitchen and beautiful balcony for guests to use. We also did the boat tour with Zayed and it was great! Would love to come back!

“Perfect place to stay in Bacalar”

Casa Bonzay is the perfect place to stay in Bacalar. Good room with fast wifi. Well equiped kitchen, and nice balcony to spend some time. Good location only a few blocks from the main square and the lake. The owner Zayed is very friendly and helpful, he also runs Bonzay Tours and with him a did a great tour on the lake which you should not miss. If I ever will return to Bacalar then is this my place to stay again.

Comfortable place to stay in a good location very close to the centre of town. Really liked that there were only 4 rooms, felt like you had your own place. Good kitchen downstairs and nice terrace to hang out on. Seemed very clean. Smart tv was a great bonus!

Lovely guest house in centre of Bacalar. Easy walk from bus stop. Supermarket and lagoon in easy walking distance. Good communication during stay. Great kitchen and big shared fridge. Great restaurant and bar next door. Totally recommend.

I enjoyed my stay at Casa Bonzay. The host was there when I arrived and very kindly let me check in early. My room was large and comfortable. The kitchen was very well-equipped. There's a nice little dining room and living room. The balcony is a pleasant spot to hang out too. The building and the bedrooms are secure. The water pressure was good and the AC works well. The location is great - only a few blocks from Bacalar Centro and not too far from the ADO bus station either (the great thing about Bacalar is nowhere is far from anywhere). The host and his family are on-site in case you need anything. You do have the option to book a boat tour of the lagoon with the host but I didn't do this.

Perfect distance from bus station, lagoon and town. Host Zayed was friendly and helpful. Self check-in meant we didn't have to worry about being late. Bathroom and bedroom had the basics. Bed & pillows firm (same as most hostels in Mexico). Air con is a must in Bacalar and worked well, as due the fan. The common areas made this a great stay for us. We spent early mornings and evenings sitting in the cool breeze on the balcony. Kitchen had plenty of utensils to prepare your own food, although there's lots of places to eat nearby. A bonus would be to have access to drinking water (even if it was user pays), to save lugging large containers and maybe cut down on plastic waste. We booked a boat tour with Zayed. He provided commentary in both English and Spanish and we had a great time both in and on the water. Tip: We found it easier to communicate by text or email so that both parties could translate before replying (our Spanish very poor).

Loved our stay here! We never met the host but they were super helpful, friendly and responsive over message. The room was big, clean and quiet, with free towels and hot water. We didn’t use the kitchen but it was very clean and well stocked. There was also a place to hang wet clothes outside on the balcony which was handy. The area felt safe and the home was close to the market, restaurants, bus station and the lagoon/ecoparque, it was very easy to find a taxi to los rapidos. We really enjoyed our stay here

Zayed is a great host, friendly and helpful. Easy check-in. Clean and tidy room. Everything worked. Good AC. Big bed with a firm mattress. The bathroom is clean with towels and soap provided. Downstairs shared kitchen is fully equipped. Lovely terrace to sit out. The location is good with the main square and avenue a few minutes walk away with many restaurants close by. Highly recommended.

We had a great stay here during our three days in Bacalar. We enjoyed being a little bit our of the centre area with a more local neighbourhood feel and cheaper restaurants - but it is still very walkable to everywhere. The room was great, very clean and comfortable with great AC. We used the kitchen to make a few meals which was also very clean and well-stocked. Would definitely recommend!
